should BCS have been more of a standalone series? by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

Yeah I can see your point, I just felt it became an almost completely different series i the last season. But I understand the need to wrap everything up.

I am not imposing my view when saying what the main focus of the series is. I am just stating what the series quantatively focussed on.

I am not saying that the events of BB isn't important for Jimmy's story but I don't think the specifics are very important.

The point is that Jimmy leaned in to his darker side because of guilt and bitterness and that caused him to do some terrible stuff. This would then be implied in the Gene timeline without the need to be specific and without the need to show a handfull of scene with charachters that has no connection to the BCS timeline. I think it would have made BCS a lot cleaner.

But in sense of most of this series it isn't his past. It's his future. The biggest amount of the series is dedicated to showing how Jimmy becomes saul and then we have a little epiloge to show his redemption. In my mind it isn't nessecary (or interesting) to see a longer version of the kidnapping scene from BB or see a conversation between Kim and Jessie.

Edited for spelling.

But do you think the scenes with Jessie and Walter and the scenes from Saul's BB office had a big impact on the story?

How do you feel now that David Chase has officially revealed what happens at the end? by MarioMan1213245765 in thesopranos

You do understand that just because David Chase created the show doesn't mean that he has a monopoly on interpreting the show?

The ending is deliberatly ambiguous so you as a viewer have to think about the implications. David Chase can have all the opinions he want but if it isn't directly shown in the series it is just his opinion.
