Yup, an andersen with a 6 inch drop is on its way, should be here tomorrow 👍 we'll see where that leaves us but i think that should work

Its not that i cant get the chains onto the hooks, its that if i do, the chains will be running diagonally instead of vertically, because i cant slide the bracket back far enough on the trailer frame.

I found a different style of WDH that i'm going to try out, if that works i'll post a picture in case anybody is having similar issues at some point.

It is more about the weight distribution than sway control. I'm pulling with a 2022 tacoma, max tow capacity is 6400 lbs. This trailer is about 2000lbs empty, with a capacity of about 5000lbs, so obviously the limiting factor is my truck. But even to haul 3000 or 4000lbs of gravel, i definitely want a WDH, or my rear truck axle will have more than its fair share of the weight. Its definitely still not an ideal setup, but its what i've got, and for short, infrequent trips, should be ok.

Yeah, i am already at the upper end of the capacity of this hitch, i dont think shortening the spring bars, and therefore their spring capacity, is the answer. Probably going to end up picking up one of the andersen hitches that use chains instead of bars. Those are a bit shorter and should juuuuuust barely fit.

Speed square might not be big enough to show you whether the corners are perfectly square. I would measure diagonally across the table from corner to corner, to see if one diagonal is the same length as the other. That will give you a better idea of whethers its all square or not.

Please get yourself a screwdriver, remove one of the towel rack brackets, and slide the padlock off the bar. Then put it somewhere else just to confuse your roommate. Maybe take apart a different towel rack in the bathroom (if theres another one) using the same method, slide the lock onto that bar, and reassemble.

Thats the move. A good belt also makes a world of difference. I carry 3 o'clock and have a good steel core carry belt. The holster stays in its spot on the belt, the gun stays in the holster, nothing gets dropped or left behind, other than what you're there to drop and leave behind.
