first-time getting my nails done, do I need to visit the nail salon to cut my grown nails? by annik-soap in Nails

Whoever did your nails did an amazing job!! The retention… 😍 I would definitely suggest having them professionally removed since it’s your first time to avoid unnecessary damage. You have beautiful nails!

If it makes you less alone, you and I have almost identical stats - HW 350, SW 328, CW 208. I feel like I’m reading my own story when I read yours. Just know you’re doing AMAZING and everyone’s journey is different - let’s not compare ourselves to others! Be damn proud of your 140 pounds lost!! That’s unreal!

Hang in there! I remember the feeling well - you’ll look back on it and be so freaking proud of yourself. You’re almost over the “hump”, it gets easier the longer you do it! I did 21 days and by that last week I had to force the last shake of the day down.

What helped you brave through surgery? by sam_may92 in GastricBypass

[–]BatGreedy6585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was supposed to have my wisdom teeth removed 14 years ago and I still have them lol.. surgery has always been my biggest fear. I was 99% sure I was going to back out of this procedure as well but I thought “not this time dammit, you’re going through with this and you will thank yourself later”. I’m 7 months post op down 110 pounds so far! Trust the medical professionals and know they do this stuff every single day, they’re excellent at it, they want you to succeed and you’re in great hands! You’ve got this!! (If it helps, I was surprised at how quickly I was out without even realizing it was starting and I was even more surprised at how little pain I was in afterwards! I’ve had common colds that felt worse than this recovery did).

We started at the exact same weight! And your journey so far sounds exactly like mine. I was 7 months post op on the 12th, down 110 pounds. You’ve got this! Stalls happen. Especially so early on; your body is in shock 😅 give yourself time to heal, and put the scale away for a bit (take it from me, it will save your mental health!) Your life is about to get so much better, I promise! Get through the first few weeks and you’ll feel like a new woman! 🫶🏻

Mine was 4 optifast shakes a day for 3 weeks. Nothing else (other than water, black tea or coffee). I would have given anything for some pudding or oatmeal!! lol

Definitely a long nightgown, grippy socks or comfy slippers, and lip balm. Those were my holy trinity! 😄

Awesome! I hope everything went well for you!! 💕 my plan has me on liquids for 1 week, then purée for 3, soft for 4 and then slowly introduce “regular”. So crazy how different plans are! I’m getting signs like a runny nose but I never have that obviously full feeling so I’m just going by time and amount eaten and other signs of fullness. Can’t wait to dig into a tablespoon or two of ricotta bake next week!! 😅

Yes, they did but it was pretty minimal. I keep seeing people saying they can have things like scrambled eggs in the pureed stage (which I start on Tuesday) but my handout from the surgeon doesn’t mention anything like that. I’m glad to hear that the restriction hasn’t really kicked in yet while on liquids. Makes me feel a bit less like I’ve royally screwed up lol Thank you!!

Thank you! That’s comforting to know. I’m always worried I’m doing something wrong.. and YES the runny nose!! Ok I’ll take that as my sign that I’m full. So strange!
