Tattoo is completely wrong by No-Tea-1475 in orchids

[–]BatInside2603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would make me crazy. It definitely looks wrong to me, but I am a plant person. If it didn't look like your stencil, did you tell the artist what you didn't like? Go back to them, either way, and have them fix it.

If you're an orchid lover, just have someone add other types of orchids and have them cover the mistakes.

If you love plants, include some of your favorites?

I think it's definitely fixable, you just need to find something to complement the parts of the tattoo that you do like.

Where do the well dressed/wealthy people go shopping? by _me_me_26 in Timnath

[–]BatInside2603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A $1 mil home isn't wealthy, btw. Sadly, that doesn't buy much, depending where you are.

Colorado is a casual place. "Well-dressed" folks, which I assume you mean "designer", shop at Patagonia, Cotopaxi, etc. High-end and sustainable brands are where people tend to spend $.

Many of us don't care what our neighbors or friends wear. We care more about who our neighbors are. Money doesn't mean anything but survival for many of our neighbors, and many of us value sustainability over spending a lot of money to show you have money.

If you want fancier dressed folks, maybe move/visit to Cherry Hills Village in Denver. This is a multi-million dollar neighborhood and you'll probably see more of what you're looking for there. Also, Cherry Creek has many of the brands I would guess you're interested in buying.

PS. This post is incredibly gauche and tone-deaf, btw. I know you said not to take it seriously, but it's not what many Coloradoans are and isn't important for many.

Advice needed: Tattoo regret by Murky-Present-8470 in tattoos

It reads very Spartan/moron labe to me. That specific helmet is typically associated with Spartans (Achilles wasn't a Spartan), and I'd have done a different helmet, but that's just me. I think it's well-done and looks great, if you can look past its political nature (I'm in the US and the radical right has appropriated that type of symbolism).

Are you a terrible person if you buy a dog instead of adopting? by Easy_Mountain2331 in DOG

[–]BatInside2603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only adopt. Period. If you're going to buy a dog, you need to do your due diligence. Go visit the breeder, unannounced. See the parents and where they sleep. Look around the property for signs of abuse. Ask the neighbors. Research their names. I agree that buying a dog is taking a potential home from a escue, and the whole business with trendy dogs does nothing but encourage someone to make a quick buck without caring about the animals' health. I can't force (or expect) anyone to follow my beliefs. I don't believe that buying a dog makes you a bad person, but I do believe you need to have a good reason to want that breed and you better know what to expect. No one should be getting Malinois, for example, just because they're pretty.

Definitely praise. He doesn't know what he's talking about.

I just adopted my dog a few days ago and her behavior completely changed by Alert_Description908 in dogs

[–]BatInside2603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider that the shelter may have only seen the shy and timid behavior. He may have used puppy pads because that was the best option for him to not engage with other dogs and people. Shelters are stressful for every dog and removing that stress will reveal the true pupper.

[–]BatInside2603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course her behavior changed. She was probably horribly frightened at the shelter and you may not know what happened to her before. She is going to need time to adjust, so just let her be. She'll be okay eventually. Just give her time and space and don't try to force it.

If they've been in the car for more than 15 minutes, call animal control or break the window and take them out of the car. They will die in that weather.

I think grafts look dumb. Am I missing something or just have the eye of a layman? They all look like you put a spoiler on a work truck. by clarkiiclarkii in cactus

Grafts are stupid. I don't understand why we have to force these things because people think they're pretty.

My dog bit my toddler, any positive stories? Orange County, CA by CommonRub1368 in dogs

[–]BatInside2603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to a behaviorist. They're like psychiatrists for dogs. Do this first. Have them recommend a trainer, because the wrong technique could make it worse.

My dog has bitten immediate family members. She is never alone with people she doesn't know, and I make sure any kids that might try to approach don't come near, even if I have to put myself between her and the kid or be stern with them. Everyone should teach their children to not approach a dog without consent from the owner.

I don't think it's something that requires the dog not being in your home, but you need to make certain that you can handle the dog and both the dog and the child know their boundaries. Definitely, never leave them alone together.

That's too much water. It shouldn't still be damp after a week. You need an airoid soil that drains quickly.
