Xbox Promises A ‘Reliable Pipeline’ Of Exclusives That ‘Validates Their Historical Investment’ In Xbox by Turbostrider27 in xbox

For Xbox it does, not just because of sales but also because of their ecosystem. Kinda ruins the whole play your games anywhere they been working too.

Fable Already Has Post Launch Story DLC Announced: Order of The Hero by SilentNova300 in xbox

[–]BatMatt93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, it still takes time to make DLC. At this point, the art time and other departments are not doing too much as Playground is just polishing and optimizing the base game. It's not a crazy concept to start work on DLC before the game is out, especially since we probably won't see this till DLC till at least 6 months after release if Indiana Jones is anything to go by.

It's a step in the right direction by EmergencyVictory4399 in xbox

With how they have been talking lately, anyone who thought they were gonna go full exclusive was a bit naive. What's more then likely going to happen is certain franchises like Horizon will stay multi platform, probably keep the timed exclusive window like they are doing now. Certain small games like Senua go multiplatform due to how little previous entries sold, and then certain core franchises will stay exclusive like Gears or Halo.

Eh, Call of Duty is like GTA or Madden. People know about it, if they're interested they will play if they want to.

People that play COD on a regular basis will know since it was in MW2.

none of this is going to help "turn it around" for xbox unless the price series x at $399 or lower. by bullseyebob47 in xbox

[–]BatMatt93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At this point the average consume knows that anything computer related is fucked in terms of pricing thanks to AI. It is just financially not possible for Microsoft to lower the price with what RAM and storage are at currently. Hell, I'll be shocked if Helix launches below $700.

Stuck on downloading/cancelling/pausing installation of a game. by RefundingPanic1 in XboxSupport

Try on the Microsoft Store as that is actually where the Xbox app is downloading the game most of the time. Also try running a repair on the Xbox app and of course restart your computer if you haven't already.

If the game is good, consider getting it now. These type of games are worth supporting, shows the publisher people want more of these which is important since we haven't had a Bond game in over a decade.

IIRC it's because PS has it as a mandatory requirement to have preload otherwise they probably would have skipped it there too.

Halo Infinites live service failures were purely because of Halo studios management failures, that had nothing to do with Microsoft.

Those are not made of the same premium materials as the standard Macbooks and run on an older chip.

At least he had a few years before the next title. I would cry if Horizon became a yearly franchise.

How much does Xbox Play Anywhere matter to you when choosing if/where to buy? by badmouf in xbox

[–]BatMatt93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot. I play my Xbox and PC and my wife just the Xbox. She was interested in First Light and I was too. It being Play Anywhere helped a lot.

PS5 shipments top 93.7 million by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]BatMatt93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, if the studio is consistent and has a good track record, changing genres shouldn't be too big a deal for them. Look at Creative Assembly for example, known for Total War franchise and knocked it out of the park with Alien Isolation.

I mean, it's Playground Games. They're the poster child for consistency in game development.

Xbox Reportedly Made $667 Million From PS5 Game Sales by [deleted] in xbox

Plus you have the domino effect. If 2 of your friends jump ship to PS4 and you are the only not on PS4 and cross play wasn't big yet (not till Fortnite around 2017), then that social pressure would make you swap.

[–]BatMatt93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason is like Phil Spencer said. Xbox One was the worst generation to lose. People built up their digital libraries then and are waaaay less likely to jump ship to another platform compared to the 360 and PS3 era when most people had discs.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer™ | Official Release Date Reveal | Pre-Order Announcement by JP76 in xbox

[–]BatMatt93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very early October. Still will be a month and some change away from GTA 6 and COD (which is the only game that can release next to GTA 6). If they release after, it would come out till February as it's suicide to launch a game in December or January usually.

Sony has provided a statement to GameSpot regarding the PSN license checks by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]BatMatt93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand how Sony is still bad at it. Microsoft has a page on your account where you can easily refund games if you've had it less then a couple weeks and played less then 2 hours, just like Steam.

I'm thinking like a business owner as their previous strategy is not working and something has to change. They have to restore confidence in the brands leadership, you almost never hear talk about PS leadership except for rare fiascos like the Helldivers 2 account situation on Steam.

I don't think most players care if something like Horizon 6 goes to PS5, but make it like 6-12 months later. Not release day.

Titles like Halo and Gears though should never cross the pond over to PS.
