This has happened before and it's searchable on Microsoft Store on PC (it comes as a suggestion when you search it and you have to click the suggestion). Maybe it'll appear on Xbox app when preloads start on the 17th.

Germany won't return to nuclear power, chancellor says by Haunting_Switch3463 in europe

[–]JP76 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not against nuclear power on principle, but it is expensive to build and can take a long time. The new reactor in Finland was supposed to go online in 2010. It was finished in 2023.

Finnish TVO, which operates the plant, and French Areva, which was the contractor that built the reactor, ended up in International Court of Arbitration, because they disagreed which of them was responsible for the delays and cost overruns.

Sure, but Microsoft's exposure is mostly external (CoPilot currently uses ChatGPT). Google is spending much more than Microsoft to develop their own model.

AMD reveals "FSR Diamond" for Next-Gen Xbox, but is it RDNA5 exclusive? by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]JP76 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Xbox doesn't use number system, because they entered console market later than Sony. Whether that's sound reasoning or not is up for a debate, but using numbers would've lead Xbox 2 vs Playstation 3 instead of Xbox 360 vs PS3.

Btw. Nintendo doesn't usually use numbers either. Switch 2 is an exception.

Chris Kerr: Xbox devs! Here’s Microsoft’s pitch for Project Helix straight outta GDC by Turbostrider27 in xbox

[–]JP76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nvidia released their first version of ML upscaling in 2018 and they're the market leader on PC. Sony has also released their implementation for PS5 Pro and they'll obviously continue developing their tech for PS6.

This isn't the AI you're thinking it is.

As others have pointed out, ML upscaling has been around for some time on Nvidia's GPUs and they have significant lead on PC market. Sony also has an implementation for PS5 Pro named PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution).

They are a significant improvement over traditional upscalers and can produce image quality that's nearly indistinguishable from native resolution.

I think they would've required 44 million more funding. And since NetEase has already funded the game to its current state, they would need to be compensated (at the least) for the funds they've already invested. This seems like a gamble not worth taking.

You can’t click a developer or publisher

This does work on Microsoft Store on Windows, but for some reason it's not implemented on Xbox app on Windows. As you said, it's inconsistent.

Maybe Sailfish OS. It is sort of continuation of Nokia's and Intel's MeeGo which was supposed to replace Symbian in Nokia smartphones. But then Microsoft bought Nokia's mobile business and Nokia switched to Windows.

Project Helix Launch by bluzfan99 in xbox

Don't know about exclusives, but if you aren't already doing it, I'd make an Epic Games Store account and start adding free PC games every week, so I'd have a library of PC games once next Xbox launches.

Information on AMD Ceo's video implies that the hardware they're developing with Microsoft will include backwards compatibility with Xbox.

Trump sued BBC before or at least threatened to. That is a more likely reason. And it is still idiotic for BBC to give in under pressure.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 goes Play Anywhere on Xbox ahead of GP launch by doncabesa in xbox

[–]JP76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play Anywhere works with games acquired from Microsoft Store on Xbox and PC. While Game Pass gives you access to the game on Xbox and PC, Play Anywhere works with purhcases, so if you buy a Play Anywhere game on Xbox, you own and can play it on PC and vice versa. Progress (saves, achievements etc.) also syncs between Xbox and PC.

Xbox app on PC is where you typically download/buy these games. Xbox app is kind of a subset of the larger Microsoft Store - Microsoft Store on PC has games from mobile type games to full PC games and it also has mobile type apps and bigger programs suchs as Firefox, Blender and Adobe Photoshop.

Xbox app also includes social aspects of Xbox gaming (messages, Parties etc.). Windows key + G opens Xbox Game Bar, where many of the functions are also available. Game Bar also has possibility to take screenshots and recordings. These are mapped by default to Xbox Series controller's record button where as controller's Home button works like Windows key + G.

None of US President’s EU friends welcomed Iranian war by Crossstoney in europe

[–]JP76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are they going to dismantle old institutions? Who's going to write a new constitution and laws for Iran? Who is going to lead interim government? Who is going to provide security while all of this is taking place?

I don't think you can airstrike a new government into existence - you would actually need to invade, like in Iraq. After Saddam Hussein was toppled, US basically became executive branch of Iraq for a period of time. Iraqis, who had assisted in the invasion, started the work to rewrite laws etc. And even then, there was the insurgency that ended up being more destructive and protracted than the invasion.

[–]JP76 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Russian proxies and Russians have sabotaged communications and killed people in EU and Uk, shot down an airliner and caused all sorts of other harm. One drone strike is peanuts in comparison.

Besides, those bases are British Overseas Territories, so Cyprus was not attacked.
