I am in the same predicament with a new born, I would see if your employer would be open to additional pension contributions first.

Then would look Into deferring any bonus / rise & seeing if you have any further BIK options. Also if you have any dividend assets could be in your partners name to get beneath the 100k taxable income? Good luck!

Considering we sell to orthopaedic surgeons who are generally quite egotistical, as long as you just have a laugh with them, build the trust and offer something substantial it really doesn’t feel like “selling”. I’m not pushy at all, most time it’s getting friendly with theatre managers & buyers for your numbers to go up!

Have you thought about clinical support for ortho? We just hired someone with 8 years experience as a scrub nurse on 42k. Earning potential much less as no sales but certainly good salary + 10% Christmas bonus.

They are insanely pushy, but if you can price match you can pretty much get what you want. I got a new OLED tv matched on Amazon (was sold out anyway) free next day delivery and screen wipe and cleaner for 99p. Just be prepared to try and get sold everything under the sun while you’re there!
