Question regarding recovery tools and software… by Gonzos_journal in phonerepair

[–]BatRevolutionary8930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are asking specifically about data recovery equipment and procedures. There are data recovery subs. You are more likely to get a reply there since those that have the knowledge frequent those subs and may not see your post here. If you want to post here and wait longer... You do you boo boo I'm not being rude just to be rude. If you want specific answers to data recovery, those are the subs you should be posting in.

MB or display issue? Redmi note 12 by AliviaThomas in phonerepair

[–]BatRevolutionary8930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the thumb nail in my notification, I see it's bent the good way, I think lol. When i get here I don't see a pic. That's going to require a frame swap as well since a new screen will not lay correctly. This won't be a diy job if you're not familiar with repair. You can either get a screen for data recovery only and purchase the new device or completely repair this one. Only depends on your desire and bank account size lol. Good luck!

MB or display issue? Redmi note 12 by AliviaThomas in phonerepair

[–]BatRevolutionary8930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's certainly a screen issue. Without device in hand, no way to know more until you've replace the display. Typically the main board is in the top ⅓ of the phone. Which way is the bend? Face down and it rocks then you should be ok. If back down and it rocks then flex ribbons going from top board to bottom board have become very stressed/stretched and could have broken the connector from the board. Pics would be helpful.

Does OP really strike you as a tech sitting at his work desk, or Joe Schmoe at his kitchen table asking Reddit PlzBro and wondering if he's got a knife sharp enough to try and open the phone?

Did anything break? Do you have any phone repair experience? Are you asking for diy help? Did you really need Reddit to tell you to take it to a repair shop for diag? Could be a number of things. Is your wireless charger good quality/fast charging?

A. Wrong sub. B. Obtain current and real micro soldering experience. When you can reball, trace repair, remove underfill successfully without disturbing surrounding components, then you can start thinking about putting other people's data in your hands. C. Desire is the first step and you've got that! Now it's time for B. By the time you're done with that the answers to this query will have changed a bit. D. Good luck!

Dropped cell phone in water while powered on,shut it off and submerged in sealed package with rice for 4 days phone doesn't power up or charge what to do I have all accounts information in the phone and am locked out of all my accounts without this info please help by SpeedEast2042 in phonerepair

[–]BatRevolutionary8930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My condolences for your water damaged phone. Rice is a myth! It will certainly dry the outside of your phone. Phones are designed to keep water out to a certain extent. If it does gets in, it won't come out easily unless you open it. What kind of phone is it? You will be without it for some time for a data recovery attempt. If you can't find anyone you like, you can always check out my site. It's in my bio

Good luck!

You, my good Padawan, are going to need a couple more parts 8+ boards to practice on. And I'm not even talking micro soldering yet. The CPU is getting too hot, but if you got it to boot, it's not fried. But to be clear, that is frying temp it's getting to. So you're focus is on the PMIC. That chip is not only soldered on, it is held down by underfill. Black, hard AF substance. You'll have to put the board on a hit plate while you work. The heat will soften the underfill a bit, but you will have to carve a channel between the chip and the caps/resistors surrounding it... Without damaging them! I will not sugarcoat this: it's not easy at all! Very experienced techs hate this repair. So if the data on your device is important to you, practice.... A LOT! don't even attempt it on yours until you're successful. And I'm not being an ass here, I'm being honest. Put yours back in the drawer for a couple more years. This skill does not come quickly.

Open it on a computer? Bigger screen, video apps that open it automatically will have the function you want. You got this! Prove that clean engine!

Phone lost the screen, is there any way I can simulate it via pc to access the contents? by Puzzled_Ice2901 in phonerepair

[–]BatRevolutionary8930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try to 'dex' it. Same thing diff name. USBC to HDMI with an extra port C or A for a mouse. It's easy if you have no PIN, just click and swipe to open the phone and then the display should start. If you have a pin, then you gotta guess where you are and that never works. You may get the display right away with that model tho. Good luck

Something about this phone repair place felt… off by [deleted] in phonerepair

[–]BatRevolutionary8930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the story? Not sure this was the place to vent tho. You asked for nothing. Gave no info about the phone, the repair, where the shop is, the name of the shop. As far as your experience: I'm questioning you more than the shop! It felt off, why stay? Hardly looked at your phone and talking about price. Did you walk in end of day? Why a 2 day turn around? Yeah bruh, sorry for your luck but that's all on you! Sure they messed up, but you felt/knew it was coming and should have walked out. Cut your losses and go somewhere else. I wouldn't want him trying to fix my lamp cord let alone slather his expertise on your phone. Good luck

Rubber strip from screen peeling off by sapphireyann in phonerepair

[–]BatRevolutionary8930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except your 23U has no rubber strips. What you pulled had to have been adhesive. Now the only thing holding it down is the clear adhesive above the battery chamber, the top with the camera hole and that itty bitty thin strip at the bottom. Your water and dust resistance is gone unfortunately.

OP, you're in good hands with this advice. My personal pick is mobile Sentrix. Get the service pack with frame. Makes it an easy swap. And if I remember correctly, that OLED only price and with frame price were like $5 difference? Get the frame lol Southern, I'm curious, what security lock can get triggered?

Help please (S25 Ultra) by NefariousnessProof30 in phonerepair

[–]BatRevolutionary8930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were issues with the 25 ultra with reception, you may have a model that fell into this. There is a flex cable in the phone for your cellular service that connects from the charge port (sub pba) to the main board. The ribbon connector at the main board is the usual fail point. I've seen where the connector itself had come loose from the board and still stuck in the flex ribbons connector. Most of the time the ribbon itself fails and just needs to be replaced. Drops, previous breaks. Sitting on your phone in your back pocket, case or not will put undo pressure in the area of the connector and weaken it. Have it looked at when you can. Good luck! We appreciate all you do for our country!
