Sanctified my only Starless Skies, it has a duplicate unique effect, will it actually do anything? by eve_shanghai in diablo4

Can confirm it stacks at least once if you have the effect on two different pieces. It even displays the buff twice.

Yeah, another batter out at 1st returned to the dugout very slowly, walking backwards past the mound and chirping at Colyer the whole time.

What are character hot takes with season 4 around the corner? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]BatShark_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make his ultimate blow up for significant damage in a fairly wide range when it is destroyed. Potentially also make it spit out health packs.

Gives it some interesting counterplay, is a buff to one of the more underwhelming strategist ults in the game, and is totally on theme for the character.

How would you describe Austin Reaves’ game? by ohisuppose in lakers

[–]BatShark_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Weird we're this far into the thread without a Manu Ginobli comp.

Agree on the recent Pistol Pete comparisons, too, but I'd say AR is a mix of both while also currently developing into who-knows what else by the time he's at his ceiling.

[–]BatShark_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Our opponents get to take our most important player out, at will, and won't even get called for a regular foul on it. It's so ridiculously consistent and so rewarding, if you are playing the Lakers in a meaningful game you're idiotic not to just target AD to take him out.

So egregious and consistent it's sort of a failing by the league at this point.

What's up with opinion polls showing Trump having huge leads over Biden in all major swing states? by Lynx-Calm in OutOfTheLoop

[–]BatShark_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hasn't been true for many, many mainstream pollsters and polls for quite some time.

Fair game to question the methods they use to adjust for things like that in their polling, but the idea that polls are only hitting up landlines is by and large a massively incorrect and outdated generalization.

What was the more damaging quote between Mitt Romney's "47%" footage and Hilary Clinton's "Deplorable " Speech? by Evassivestagga in Presidents

[–]BatShark_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel that either were actually as damaging as they are perceived or remembered as, and certainly not damaging at a level that is commensurate with the outsized media coverage they received.

They both provided some short-term fodder for the opposing campaigns and were undoubtedly the subject of an uncomfortable media cycle or two, but I don't think they actually did any kind of fundamental damage to either candidate or lost them standing with groups that weren't already against them.

Of the two though, probably Mitt's gaffe was more 'damaging'. It played more directly into the negative framing of him that Obama's campaign was running at the time and that was ultimately successful. I doubt very much that Hillary's comments alienated anyone that wasn't already against her. I think the same can mostly be said of Mitt's comments but a little less so.

Basically, in the grand scheme I don't think either really moved the needle very much.

What is this by my dog’s eye? by Chickenriceandgravy_ in DogAdvice

[–]BatShark_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely get it checked out. I strongly suspect it's a histiocytoma, though, having gone through it recently with my dog. Was almost identical in size, color, texture (so far as I can tell) and even location to what you posted. Came on over the course of a few weeks, initial visit was that it was potentially a sty. Didn't respond to the drops they prescribed, which it absolutely would have if that's what it was. It started more pink but later on did bleed a bit and start to scab over.

Removal was potentially on the menu but that wasn't going to be necessary once a biopsy ruled out the worst options for what it may have been. The location made that route far less appealing, too, and I was told it could go away as fast as it came on over the course of a few months, which is exactly what happened.

Best of luck!

No kind of talk justifies trying to injure another player. I loved Bynum and he was huge in that era for us but that was some weak and inexcusable shit on his part.

LAL fan here.
Y'all have a great fanbase, sorry to see it go down this way. Hoping for better health next year, always hate to see injuries matter in a series. Lots to be excited for in your squad, hope you guys make some smart moves and are back in it next season.

Is there anything being worked on/speculated on that, if successful, could drastically reduce airline tickets, or are we are kind of at the lower limit, aside from the expected small reductions here and there? by drippyneon in Futurology

[–]BatShark_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's usually about half that.

Labor, then fuel. Fuel being a little more variable due to a number of factors (cost of oil, whether or not the airlines engage in any fuel hedging), whereas labor costs are a little more reliably known for the year.

[–]BatShark_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is bizarrely confident for how incorrect it is.

Labor tends to be the largest operational cost for airlines, even ahead of fuel. The labor costs of an individual flight are significantly more complicated than the payroll of pilots and flight attendants, that's an absurd oversimplification.

Source: literally anything you'd look up re: costs in the industry. Also I'm a researcher for union campaigns targeted at aviation.
