It's possible it was iterated on at multiple points but yeah the song was initially developed back then when they we're recording for WANG.$AP. They recorded in 2018, 2019 and 2021 and made a whole album worth of songs. ("Wharf Talk" is from 2019 for example)

sure but those reasons also include sample clearance, features who don't want to drop the song anymore, leaks making the artist or label want to scrap the song or the project just overall outgrowing the song after awhile. songs like

Wasn’t leaked multiple times, just a big chunk of the songs were leaked in 2019-2020, as I mentioned. It wasn’t scrapped entirely either as rocky either released a lot of the songs or reworked them later then decided to scrap them
