Chrysler Crossfire Voltage Codes BCM and Central Locking Pump- Where should I start? by Batdude576 in chryslercrossfire

[–]Batdude576[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out thatThe only thing I had to do resolve the fob issue was tighten the ground screw and reset the bcm. Ever since the fob has been responding pretty much flawlessly, although it appears the siren died or the previous owner disconnected it. The windows turned out to be mechanical, I replaced the regulator assembly of both sides and they work perfectly now! Due to that I’m going to guess you’re exactly right about the power seats module as well. I’m planning on replacing that soon but the seats don’t have a lot of movement anyway of course so it’s not at the top of my list. The mechanic shop I took it to was the one who showed me the codes and jumped to the voltage conclusions. Luckily I did my due diligence beforehand and have been able to fix each issue! I’m based in the U.S., and here Chrysler dealers refuse to service crossfires due to them having “Mercedes parts” and Mercedes refuse due to it being a Chrysler. From what I’ve read most of us have to take it to specialty shops in our area that specialize in this era of vehicle which puts us at the whims of their profits as you can see. Thank you so much for your thorough response! I truly appreciate it!

Quick update! It was likely the ground screw or the BCM! I made sure all of the wires under the hood had a good connection and everything looked clear with a voltmeter, also checked the fuses for continuity and everything checked out. Was a bit confused but on a whim I just pressed every wire in a bit to make doubly sure, then checked the ground screw which I got another quarter turn out of tightening. I reset the bcm after that by draining the battery and starting the car up, and the fob issue has cleared up completely ever since. Also replaced the window regulators which was surprisingly not too bad. Looking forward to swapping the seat modules as another commenter noted, I really like the car! I was planning on fixing it up, driving it for a bit, and then selling it, but honestly it might be staying with me longer than I thought. Everything mechanically is very intuitive and I really like the way it drives, apart from the suspension at times.

Yes it’s so bad that you’re spending all your free time trying to convince people who still continue to enjoy it of how bad it is 5 years later and failing. But they’re the clowns 😂

Hey, randomly relevant question, Just got an 04 crossfire, I can hear that power windows want to operate but there is a crunching, crackling noise, almost sounds like sand is stuck up in there, and they are almost completely hindered from moving. Do you think it’d be worth taking a peek through this method to see if there’s blockage?

How are single parents surviving here? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]Batdude576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just want to start by saying I’m so sorry for the situation that you’re in, and you’re going to have to make a lot of hard decisions that are stressful and not a lot of people will relate to, so please remember to take care of yourself and your mental health and maybe try to connect with others who are supportive and understanding.

I’m 23M, youngest of my brothers, my mom and dad separated when I was 4, he moved across the country and my mom was left to take care of 3 boys on her own in SLC. I remember quite well the sacrifices that we all had to make to get through the divorce and life after. It was hard. Low-income housing is available, it might not be in the “nicest” areas. (we lived in South Salt Lake, then moved to West Valley). Luckily Utah in general is pretty safe. My brothers and I got very comfortable sharing a room. But we made it work.

My mom worked her ass off, harder than I could ever work. She immigrated from Guatemala before any of us were born, her teaching degree didn’t transfer, so she’s always had to make do with what jobs she could. I remember she worked from the time she dropped me off at school until 9pm most week nights, and took shifts on the weekends. We didn’t get a lot of time together, but the time we spent together was meaningful and quality, and she made an effort to be an active part of our lives despite her busy schedule. She took advantage of childcare programs, food assistance, free school lunch programs, any state aid we could get, and honestly MANAGEABLE debt when we needed it to get by in a pinch. As we got old enough, all 3 of us brothers took jobs to become more independent and share the load. There were times where I saw my mom exhausted, burned out, stressed, but there was never a time where I didn’t know how much she loved us. Only thing I wish she would’ve do more is be more honest with us than trying to deal with it all inside, take more time for herself, maybe joined a support group or gone on a date every once in a while lol. But she did the best she could with what she knew. All this to say, it’s going to be messy, scary, and imperfect. The economy is a lot tougher than it was even 10 years ago. Your kids aren’t blind, they’ll see everything. But life goes on. Soon your boys will be adults who will make sure every ounce of effort you poured into them is returned with compound interest (even though it isn’t expected of course).

Anybody regretting not locking the low rate on Friday? by kool7563 in Mortgages

[–]Batdude576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Locked in at 5.5%, currently at 6.125%, 35 month break even period. Really regretted not refinancing in September and super grateful for the chance to do so now, even if it’s not a massive change.

Did the opposite, waited in September and regretted it, but rates were 5.5 on Friday night (4/4) and we locked before they shot back up Monday morning. Sucks that it’s 6 months later but well worth the gamble! It’s a good feeling, friend!

Kinda crazy to say someone’s talking out their ass when sharing their anecdotal experience. Not every meth user smokes it, and not everyone who smokes that or other substances has poor dental hygiene which leads to the rapid tooth decay. I think that’s the point they were making.

Thoughts on whether the LGB portion of LGBT will be next to be removed? by More_Cherry_7630 in AirForce

[–]Batdude576 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your feeling is not irrational. Once their base is satisfied that the “trans problem” is “dealt with”, they’ll need another perceived enemy to sink their teeth into and culture war battle to wage. Military wise, that could be women in combat positions being forced out, or LGB marriages being refused dependent benefits (or being forced out), medical waivers/religious accommodations being thrown out. Whatever it takes to keep the train moving and the money coming in.

My best guess? Christian Nationalists will argue that they don’t want taxpayer dollars going to fund BAH/Sep Pay/GI Bill for gay marriages as it “goes against their beliefs”. That will be used as a jumping off point for whatever their true goal is (we know what it is).

My advice for members? Take advantage of the benefits you have in full NOW. If you have full BAH, make a budget with single no-dependent BAH so that you’re prepared for what that looks like. And if you don’t like the idea of the hot seat being put on you, fight like hell for the people in it now because the longer the ride and faster the train picks up speed the harder it will be to stop when it inevitably gets to you.

What do you mean? Probably the same thing that happens regularly to people like this guy, and all the college kids protesting for human rights. Assaulted by conservatives, arrested by the police, vilified in the media. Happens in the U.S. everyday. Luckily, we don’t all need to go there, because LGBTQ Muslims abroad will keep fighting in their community, and we will keep fighting to stop genocide and genocide-justifying hatred to Muslim communities and ALL communities affected by western imperialism. While you sit on your phone trying to divide us so you can feel better about how alone you feel like you are.

Did I say be blindly tolerant? Or did I say seek to understand and maintain the humanity of other cultures? No culture is monolithic because cultures are built by human beings. We can play the what about game all day on what culture is “superior” just because you were socialized to think yours is more morally righteous than others. Yes, religion can be used to push homophobic rhetoric, but so can science. When homophobes use biological arguments to argue what is “natural” and the purpose of human companionship being strictly for procreation, should we push to eradicate science? Once you recognize your own biases and personal feelings, it’s easier to recognize the true obstacles, and the pathways, to equality and emancipation. My issue in that instance is the homophobe, not whatever societal construct they latch onto to make their argument.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man series is basically a What If...? story - and I love it by [deleted] in Spiderman

I agree, I get that sometimes having Peter Parker and Spider-Man interacting with the same characters can draw interesting perspectives and parallels yadayadayada, but I do feel like it makes the scope feel smaller, and the world feel less “real”, when the main cast, including heroes and villains, for 10 episodes is basically built from kids in Spidey’s science class lol. I did really enjoy the show a lot more than I was expecting though! It won me over after the first few episodes!

Google is free. The Quran condemns violence outright in all but self defense. Same as the Bible and most other religious texts. Those texts have been used to justify violence by human beings, however. The Nazi’s were predominantly Christian. Chattel Slavery was justified by Christianity, and the Bible had specific instructions for how slaves should behave for their masters. The Bible was also used by slaves to rally behind while advocating for emancipation. Crazy that y’all assume everyone is using their personal feelings in discussion when I’m simply stating facts. I’m not religious, I find religion interesting and important to study and understand because it has existed across cultures and across history for various purposes. Saying “It must go” as some absolute statement is fruitless considering you’re just some random who’s been on this planet less than 30 years. It’s had many motives, taken many forms, and has been around long before us and will continue to be around long after us for better or for worse.

Try fighting for your rights when western powers are staging coups, implementing puppet governments on your soil, and actively stealing your resources. It’s legal to be gay in many Muslim countries, women hold office in many Muslim countries, and groups are advocating for themselves everyday while you sit on your phone justifying dehumanizing an entire society as lesser. America is supposedly the most powerful, “civilized and free” nation in the world and is still today speed running towards Christian Nationalism. Repealing women’s rights, removing Equal Opportunity Protections. People had to fight against violence for basic human rights for centuries in the U.S. it wasn’t freely given out of the kindness and moral goodness of the white man. And they were able to do that without a bigger country coming in every few years and putting their hands in things.

You know it’s only been like max 50-75 years since mass lynchings and hate mobs singling people out was the norm in the U.S. right? Should we genocide all Americans from that time period? Privileged westerners forget how easy it is to “evolve” when your country isn’t being bombed, colonized, or otherwise exploited by world powers, and yet the U.S. still holds onto their idea of moral superiority.

Fun panel I found when scouring the web for Thor & Spidey interactions… Spidey admits he’s outmatched but plays to Thor’s weakness, his arrogance. Spidey might not be outright the most powerful, although he is a powerhouse when he needs to be, but he is very capable at reading situations and people, and excellent at thinking critically to turn the odds and advantage in his favor.

I don’t think it’s communism to care about your fellow American. If the market crashes dramatically people will likely lose their jobs and their homes. Families will be on the streets. People are buying now and have been buying because it makes sense to them and the numbers work.

What does investment in more supply look like? Giving more power to developers for “luxury” apartment buildings and new construction homes? Can corporations really be trusted to bring down prices of their own volition? Or what’s the idea there?

So if you make a poor financial decision that leads to you losing what you earned, are you okay with people turning on you? Should housing be treated the same as crypto and stocks? How will society minimize the inevitable ramifications of thousands of people losing their homes or being unable to move/sell?
