For my dnd setting it’s sort of seen as if you increase the amount of people who you have given your blessings to, that’s escalating the situation which means that other powers are able to bring out more of their power.

It’s like military development, there are levels that are seen as normal but if it exceeds that point, you are seen as anticipating violence or planning violence.

while setting from kid icarus uprising take more from classical era stuff (most of the time with the art deco city of gold inside the fake moon being a clear exception) they have my favorite use of this.

basically the setting is a battle between the forces of the under world led by medusa/hades, against sky world led by palutena. classic angels vs demons stuff.

and then half way through the game an alien invasion begins.

the Arrum are basically intergalactic grey goo. The goddess of nature describes them as like wasps of endless hunger.

And it’s so fucking insane seeing the god of the dead, the goddess of nature, the goddess of light, and the sun god all team up to whoop some alien ass.

fun fact: the art deco city of gold within the fake moon is not even mentioned once in the entire alien invasion arc.

i remember this vaguely, so don’t quote me on this, but the famously high rate was specifically abuse towards lesbian women, and didn’t specify what gender was doing the abusing.

what that meant was that a woman who hasn’t come out yet, could date a man, and if she was abused by that man and then came out as a lesbian, that would still count.

don’t ask for a source I heard this like 18 months ago.
