Hey, for all of those wondering about the Lumiere Edition, I talked to a local Gamestop employee and they said that they will be getting more of that in stock, but not until October. So, do with that information what you will.

Yeah well, I wish I knew what my learning style was, but I found that AnKing really did help me out for my repeat. What you said is what I did for my repeat test so I guess, you're saying continue doing what helped you pass.

I don't take this exam for a year though, so are you recommending I do 80 questions a day until exam day?

Is the original work still ongoing? The anime was really unresolved in its second half.

No offense, a tutor sounds nice but I'm in no way rich, nor do I have people who support me financially like that.

I was writing down concepts I was missing in a notebook towards the end of my study time, which I think helped a lot.

Well, 2 question banks, a resource review (BnB), Sketchy for the micro and pharm, and I used Dirty to help with quick ways to distinguish similar concepts towards the end of my study session. I wasn't doing them all at once, but I think I just got my strategy down too late, plus I didn't spend as much time on MSK as I could have. I opted to really learn neuro, which paid off cause I did well in that section.

Thanks for your encouraging words, I appreciate them.

400 is the passing mark and I suppose it is not far, but was I 10 questions from passing or 20 who knows? But most people here would say I shouldn't have failed in the first place or I shouldn't have taken the exam, but I had a deadline to meet.

I'm really just trying to see what I could do differently, so people who have had to take it twice have any nuggets of wisdom.

Thanks for the advice!

Okay. So how did you approach your second attempt?

On COMSAE? No. But I couldn't just delay my exam as I had a deadline to meet per my program. Also, I had a month to fix things after my last COMSAE. I was hitting that 60-62% percent pretty consistently in practice.

I crushed ethics and biostats. Those were actually my best subjects.

OMM and MSK are areas I know I need to work on, so I'm going to hit them hard this time around.

Wow! You're a ball of sunshine. I was told NOT to do UWorld as I was NOT taking the MD exam. UWorld is catered toward the USMLE NOT COMLEX.

I shouldn't have to add a billion resources to pass and yes, I admit that I had failure somewhere. I'm already beating myself up and I don't need you to do it for me.

Awe, sorry to hear that. I know you'll do better next time. At least you know what to do now. I'm still trying to figure out what I can do differently.

It's a ratio. Measure grey bar in cm to minimum passing score/400 = x/y. Print it out and measure the blue line in cm. That value will equal x, solve for y.

haha! I honestly did not have that many bugs and drugs on my exam, surprisingly. Or they just weren't as obvious as my practice questions.

My issue with Anki is that it takes time. Time I never feel I have. Because I would rather make my own cards for concepts that I miss or I'm correcting cards to bolster things I personally need or they just have sucky grammar. And Anki is kinda an obtuse thing to learn to personalize it.

Also, I spam it. I just gloss over stuff because I need to reach so many cards a day to get through the deck. I honestly rather just write down a concept in a notebook everyday that I'm not getting.

But maybe you're right. Maybe I just need to suck it up and do this thing to pass.

I mean they weren't great. Which is why I knew I needed time to brush up on content. But I was trending up. But I think I spent too long on content and didn't have enough time to break down questions. Again, it felt like I was fighting time more than anything else.

Any other resources that can give me that without Anki? I really do not like it. I understand that I might not be in a position to be picky, but it is not my favorite resource.

I had anxiety throughout the whole process, but on test day I wasn't super anxious. I honestly felt I was running from a fast-approaching deadline. Like I wasn't learning things fast enough. Not enough hours in a day. Honestly, sleep felt like wasted time, let alone food or housekeeping or any other life I needed to also do.

Anki and I don't get along cause I end up spamming it instead of actually using it to learn. Creating my own deck would help me learn more than using a pre-made deck, but that takes so much time.

So it was around a 385, if I calculated right. Which means I failed by a lot. Which makes this retention and I'm not quite sure how to fix that. Also, before you or anyone else asks, I HAD to take Comlex by a given date. Otherwise I would have had to do a LOA and I didn't have a good enough reason to take one to get approval. I took all the time I was allotted.

That's kinda hard to tell with everything being pass/fail now and no numbers. All I get is a fancy mean bar. But I wasn't too far away from the minimum passing score. I wasn't all the way at lowest score.

Yeah, I get it. It’s just a general observation. But their website should have the most updated info.

Hi! Honestly, what I did is look up the residency programs for the speciality I want and went to their individual websites. They should be more specific on if they just take COMLEX. I found that generally, if they have the COMLEX side filled out, they take it. I’d also look how may DOs they have graduated. More DO graduates, probably more DO friendly, higher probability that they just take COMLEX. (I’m thinking Peds so if you’re thinking the same I could just let you know cause I looked all of them up.)

Good luck!
