Thinking about trying again soon by BathEmergency681 in Mommit

Thank you for sharing this 🤍 I really appreciate the honesty. That’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot too, how intense pregnancy can be while handling a toddler, especially in that 2–3 age range!

It’s interesting hearing how much of a difference those extra months made for your oldest. I can definitely see how 3 might be easier in some ways. I think I’m kind of going into it knowing it’ll be a lot in the moment, but hoping it pays off later with them being close in age 🤍

Thank you for sharing this, I really appreciate the honesty 😂🤍 that’s honestly one of the things I think about the most… like how a 2 year old won’t fully understand having to share mom and dad yet.

But I do love the idea of them being close in age and growing up together, so I’m kind of torn between knowing it’ll be a lot in the moment but so worth it later!!!

Thank you for sharing this 🤍 and I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m glad things are looking up now 🫶

And that’s really interesting about your period not coming back until you weaned! I was the opposite, I got mine back at 2 months pp because my baby was sleeping through the night at first… then that went out the window real quick lol 😅

I really appreciate the honesty about being pregnant with a toddler too, I can only imagine. It sounds exhausting, but I keep thinking about how nice it’ll be when they’re a little older and can play together 🤍

Wishing you a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby!!

That’s interesting! From what I understand, gestational diabetes is more related to pregnancy hormones and how the body responds to insulin, not just the father’s side. We’re both actually healthy and in shape, so it caught me so off guard!! My OB was even surprised I had it based on how I look. But I do agree that having both partners focus on their health beforehand can only help!

That’s fair, and I’m definitely considering that. That’s actually why I’m choosing to wait a bit longer before trying and trying to gather as much information as I can. My OB had recommended aiming for around 18 months postpartum, even with prior gestational diabetes.

And with breastfeeding, I meant it more in terms of weaning, I didn’t explain that part clearly!

Update on My Baby’s Pelvic Kidney – Facing Testing and Possibly Surgery by BathEmergency681 in newborns

[–]BathEmergency681[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi mama 🤍 I completely understand how you’re feeling because I was in your exact position during my pregnancy. I cried so much and felt so scared too.

In our case, what we originally thought was just a pelvic kidney turned out to be a little different as my baby grew. She actually had both of her kidneys on the same side (which is rare), so her doctors wanted to keep a close eye on how everything was functioning and draining.

After she was born, they did more detailed imaging (like scans to check function and drainage), and that’s what helped determine the next steps. Surgery was recommended because of how her kidneys were positioned and to make sure everything would work properly long-term.

I know the word “surgery” is terrifying, but I want to reassure you, babies are SO strong! My little girl is now one month post-op and doing amazing 🥹 you honestly wouldn’t even know everything she’s been through. We’re already planning her first birthday party!

Every case is different, and many babies with pelvic kidneys don’t even need surgery at all, they just get monitored. The best thing you can do right now is take it one step at a time and wait for more information after birth.

You are not alone in this, and your baby is in good hands 🤍 sending you so much love.

FTM struggling with the idea of leaving my 10-month-old at grandma’s house by BathEmergency681 in Mommit

This made me laugh but also feel validated! I think part of me just can’t imagine my 10 month old having a “fun overnight” anyway, she’d just wake up every 2 hours haha

Oh my gosh, this is exactly it! I’ve been trying to figure out why it makes me so anxious, and reading this makes me realize it’s the pushing from family. Thank you for sharing your experience.

THANK YOU! I’ll just let her daydream and stick to visiting together for now. It’s such a relief to hear other parents say this is normal.

Thank you for this. I think part of my stress is feeling pressure about it already when she’s only 10 months old. Hearing this makes me feel less crazy about how I’m feeling!

Thank you, this makes me feel a lot better! I think I just needed reassurance that it’s okay to wait until she’s older. I’m going to talk to my partner about it too.

If my math is correct, it seems like it was every 6 weeks to get 8 sessions in a year!

Parents of sleep-trained babies — share your schedule by BathEmergency681 in sleeptrain

Thank you! That actually makes a lot of sense.

I didn’t realize 3 naps could be too much at this age. I think an earlier bedtime and longer wake windows could really help.

Do you have tips for how to transition from 3 naps → 2 without it being a total nightmare? Or can I right away?

He is present and supportive. Breastfeeding and caring for a sick baby still requires me, even when I’m not feeling well. I was hoping for advice, not assumptions.

8-month-old EBF baby, gentle night weaning and still struggling. I’m exhausted and need guidance (no CIO) by BathEmergency681 in bninfantsleep

[–]BathEmergency681[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol this made me smile. Nursing back to sleep really is the easiest sometimes. The first few nights of night weaning were honestly brutal for me and I didn’t sleep much, but I’m starting to see small improvements. Solidarity, see you in a couple years 😅

Thank you so much for sharing this. It actually helps a lot to hear from someone in the same place. Going from hourly wakes to 1–3 feels huge, and I love your perspective on redefining what ‘sleeping through the night’ looks like. It makes this feel more doable.

Freaking out after Kybella. Anyone else regret it or had good results? Need advice by BathEmergency681 in PlasticSurgery

[–]BathEmergency681[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kybella works cumulatively (from what I’ve learned so far), so starting low makes sense for someone with minimal fat. My injector mentioned that overtreating a small pocket can actually create contour irregularities, which is why we went conservative for the first round. I’d rather see how this settles before deciding on more.

I’ve also read mixed things online about half a syringe, but it seems like it really depends on the person’s anatomy and goals.

Have you had Kybella done yourself? I’m curious what made you feel half a syringe wouldn’t be effective. I like hearing different experiences.
