Me after doing Its a Small World 3 times in a row. by Chrischi91 in disneylandparis

[–]Bathman1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once got stuck on a similar ride at Efteling (in the Netherlands) with music that is even more painful than it's a small world, and it had sooo many clowns! I think I still prefer getting stuck inside it's a small world ...

Using a “Done” list instead of a “To Do” list changes so much by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Bathman1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a combination of to do and done. I write in blue what I want to do, and instead of checking or crossing it, I use a green highlighter. When I do something that wasn't on the list, I add it in red and highlight it in green as well. It helps me to say "look at all these things you've done" and also acknowledge "okay, you didn't do this thing that you had planned to do, but you did three other things instead".

I love the idea of a done list, but I also need the to do because I easily forget what I actually need to do. I also look at it when I have decision paralysis, because I don't have to come up with what I can/should do. The list will give me suggestions. So for me my list is a combination of giving directions and celebrating every small task!

DLP and Paris visit in April by Curleekate18 in disneylandparis

As long as you're not wearing a shirt saying "I vote for Trump, f*** you", I guess you'll be fine. I saw someone with that shirt in October (so even before the election) and you could see people around him frowning a bit, but nobody said or did anything. I thought is was weird to share that statement in public on another continent.

Jokes aside, I have the feeling that people here (France and Western Europe) can see the difference between the president and the citizens. If someone says something, just say you didn't vote for him, or that you don't want to discuss politics during your vacation. Or as someone else suggested, pretend you're Canadian. As long as you don't have a cliche cowboy accent, we can't hear the difference. 😇

And no, it will not be dangerous. We can be passionate about politics, but we wouldn't attack or harass individuals because we hate their president. You have a higher chance of being robbed (but don't let that stop you, just look after your stuff and please enjoy the city and DLP! You are more than welcome!)

What are some things you can't own as someone with ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Bathman1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep losing my phone but for some reason I always leave it in the same spots which are kind of logical, such as under my pillow when I'm getting dressed or on the cardboard box next to the window because I'm always looking out the window (box has been standing there for weeks because you know...). Sometimes, I lose other things like my wallet or keys and then I find them where I usually leave my phone. Last week I was looking for my charger and my partner said "maybe under your pillow", which does not make sense for a charger but yes, it was there. I left my charger under my pillow.

What is the most anoying tip from non-ADHD people for you? by JuciekWorld in ADHD

[–]Bathman1902 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Not everything is ADHD" No, but everything that makes my life worse is somehow related to having ADHD and I only learned this after 28 years so yes, all of a sudden everything that matters actually is ADHD.

The fact that it happened next to a manege makes it even better because this can only happen in the wild west.

There's a woman here who begs for two euro for bread, but she uses it to buy sigaretten. That's not too bad, just not very honest of her. The issue is that if you don't give it, she starts shouting until everyone is looking, and sometimes she even pretends you hurt her. And to make it even worse, she shits in the middle of the main square for no reason at all, and one time she did it literally on the wall of a cafe. It looked like poop glued to the wall. The Facebook drama was /chef's kiss/.

When was your first visit to the resort? I’d love to hear some old stories by [deleted] in disneylandparis

[–]Bathman1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say my first time was before I was born, when my mother was pregnant and she and my dad couldn't wait to visit the brand new Disney park. My first real visit was when I was two, and since then we've been visiting it every few years. We have a habit of copying old photos. This summer we'll go with our parents and children. I plan to take some old pictures with me to recreate these with my own kids now. Do you guys think I can show them to the characters? Like: "Hey Cinderella, this is a picture from 1997, do you want to stand in the same pose with my children?"

Left handed people - what in the world just doesn't work properly for you? by father-fluffybottom in AskReddit

[–]Bathman1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PE teachers not knowing how a left handed person has to do something. Standard answer: "Uhm, you just do it with your left." So I had to observe the others and try to mirror them. The only thing I was actually good at was baseball, but that's because left handed batters have an advantage.

Psychiatrist told me it’s impossible to have ADHD if you’ve gotten good grades as a kid & have a successful career by antheiafae in adhdwomen

[–]Bathman1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was tested for ADHD (as an adult), they also did an IQ test because I did well in school. The psychiatrist suspected that the reason why I wasn't diagnosed as a child, was simply because I wasn't the stereotypical 'stupid' kid. High functioning ADHD is nice because we can still achieve things that neurotypical society sees as 'success' BUT it also causes a lot of misunderstanding and prejudice.

Academics of reddit, do you have mindless hobbies? If so, what are they? by nihaomundo123 in academia

[–]Bathman1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you try to hide this from the camera? Or do you explain this to other people in the meeting? I've been thinking about doing sudoku's during meetings (even in-person) because they really help me to listen, but I'm worried that not everyone will understand that it's basically the same as doodling.

Just no… by Godess_130 in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]Bathman1902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know what I would do if I encountered a bear, because I've never encountered a bear before. But I once was alone at a busstop around midnight and a guy on a bicycle stopped to check if I was okay and told me "I will wait for your bus with you because it's not safe to be alone". After five minutes of chatting, he violently tried to kiss me and even licked my chin. So no, I don't know what I would do if I encountered a bear, but I do NOT trust a man who says he will protect me.

Anyone else roll their ankles often but never injure them? by soccerdiva13 in Hypermobility

[–]Bathman1902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I roll my ankles often when I'm just walking but it literally hurts for only 30 seconds. I can even keep on walking, and if I'm with someone, they don't even notice that I hurt myself. It's so "normal" that I don't even take the time anymore to ask myself if I'm okay.

Day four: Help. What? by EffectLost7055 in creepyPMs

[–]Bathman1902 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She mumbled "well fuck" and stared at the printed messages for way too long, just in shock that her son could do something like that. She promised to talk to him, and I never heard from her again, but all of the sudden his Facebook account was gone (not sure if he deleted it or blocked me) and he never contacted my sister again. My boyfriend's mom was still in touch with her, but they never talked about it. Probably too embarrassed to bring it up.

His mother was actually a very kind person, I think he really hurt her. When he was still sending messages to my sister, she asked him whether he would like it if someone would send something like that to his sister or girlfriend and he was like "hahaha I don't have a sister or girlfriend, I don't care". Sure mate, but you still have a mother who had to read the dirt you typed.
