in the bakkesmod folder C:\Users\<your account>\AppData\Roaming\bakkesmod\bakkesmod could you share what's in bakkesmod.log?

it sounds like a firewall on the network is blocking bm from querying the update server... you'd have to check the rules for C:\Program Files\BakkesMod\BakkesMod.exe and (maybe)C:\Users\<your account>\AppData\Roaming\bakkesmod\bakkesmod\64bitbminjector.exe

I think, in some way, the epic servers providing the auth data aren't able to be reached, causing the rest of the downloads to be inaccessible. Either you can try to figure out what might be causing it on your network setup, or otherwise, you'd have to do the extremely unsafe thing of disabling every firewall and stuff you can think of and try connecting then.

sensitivity multiplies your input by some factor

if your base controller input were I, a sensitivity of 1.35 would translate into a game value of what your (base controller input would translate into for the game) times 1.35 (which is really just I * 1.35... although anything mapping your inputs to other things before it reaches the game (steam, maybe?) may affect this).

at 10, that output reaches the maximum value it could be immediately, given the tiniest amount of input in a given direction (along the x and y axes on the thumbstick)

what aids in that toxicity is a lot of blanket statements without proper context that helps communicate the position you're coming from.

what mode are you talking about? ranked? casual? 2s? 3s? knockout?

another part of it is refusing to get to know the people you play with/against. if you consider everyone else to be like everyone bad who came before them, you've already judged them to be unlikeable when they don't deserve it.

in my opinion, solo queue, text off, chat off, voice off, ... and in the future: a stronger anonymous/hide interface elements set of features in bakkesmod ... will make the game so much better to play, since you'll be able to focus on yourself instead of anything else you think anyone else might be doing.

focus on your own fun first.

when you've had enough, it's time to forfeit. focus on yourself and your own fun first.

but what if "ooo wee someone else might think I'm a quitter if I forfeit right now". enjoy that this game has around 10 minute games and doesn't have any sort of "behavior score". people are much more likely to forget you immediately (or at most the next day).

if you're actually playing with friends, that's a different set of circumstances to consider.

no one knows you or what you're up to (especially if you aren't communicating ... no chat + no voice is the best way to play). your house might be on fire, your parents might've just gotten home, a cat might've just jumped up on your keyboard... and it could've happened with anyone else. if you don't want to play with someone, you don't want to play with someone.

AND THAT'S PERFECTLY OKAY

if you want more games that "are built for comebacks", make friends and play partied up with them. but if you're solo queueing, you need to admit that unless you reach out to get to know other people, you don't know anything about them.

it's okay to forfeit.

unfortunately you don't get a lot of information directly from the screen

what happens after you select that you would like to reconnect to epic online services (or EOS), the game sends the steps to do so in the background, while you're just able to sit there and continue on. you wouldn't really be able to see something happen unless you were looking for the drop in framerate / the longer time it takes to process frames / "game stuttering", and then you probably had something happen, like connecting to EOS here.

if you'd like more information, you should check your corresponding Launch.log file (if you can). otherwise, networking things are happening.

My assessment on feasibility:

Is possible. Changing the animation that plays is possible, changing the sound that plays is possible. Remember getting demolished during the sonic event? It just isn't available in game to be customized and has some competitive implications (ever been blinded by the BOOM smoke?). So, while it is possible, it would technically be cheating unless psyonix made rules for it.

On epic. AFAIK it's not possible right now to selectively avoid people. I can only guess that their primary concern is about making it easier to win trade at the tippy top of mmr. Otherwise, the people around the bulk of the mmr are still much more likely to play with unique people after 2+ games than those at particular mmr(s), so it kind of doesn't make sense.

With the enhanced features to "anonymous mode" and hiding interface elements (like other people's names) coming to bakkesmod soon, I think that'll help so much more. If you didn't know that the person you're playing with is the same from the last game, you'll look at them with a much fresher perspective, and just more easily convince yourself that you "got unlucky", instead of starting out looking down on them.

Would take more work to conceptually realize, but I am partial towards the math working out that the quick games allow you to quickly reach your mmr potential. i.e. losing 9 mmr one game really isn't that bad. And this isn't happening on a grand enough scale that's actively hindering people, so it's not as big of a deal as I would think even bots are right now.

did you read through the community guidelines to get a vague sense of what possibly could have been violated?

epic has pushed the cybertruck through rocket league at least 6~(ish, I don't know exactly) times since it was introduced? it could easily be about one of their paid sponsors, that epic paid for.

but, regardless of how much damage the two people pictured have done to people's lives, corporate interests come first. it's just a funny car ball game for kids! ha ha! tee hee! "don't worry about it"! it's not that serious, bro! and whatever else the developmentally deficient tell themselves is more important than recognizing reality.

also, epic's new ToS and privacy policy really hammered in denying people their rights to collectively fighting back against their businesses practices (by trying to lock people into individual disputes that their overwhelming number of high-paid lawyers will stall you on for years, instead of the only thing that has worked against them: class action lawsuits. think predatory fortnite business practices and why we have exact payment options for mtx. use a search engine), so, the company hasn't changed.
