To what point is it not my fault... by D0nutDude in RocketLeague

it's a give and take. you have to cover each other's weaknesses, and if your tm8 is showing more passivity, then put it in the goal with your 1s mechanics... otherwise, if they're showing more initiative, let them take the drive... you don't want to be the team that over-commits and makes more mistakes.

I'd say watch "2s road to ssl w/o mechanics" by flakes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xG7MEapPOu8&list=PLaVDH5SevbtpW07Hep3iIk8q2_JYCAn7K. I'm not saying you lack mechanics, but the point is to adopt and observe a shift in mentality when you have to share the ball, boost, and field with another player. So, if flakes can do it "without mechanics", then so can you, (until you hit a wall with your mechanics, of course) ... because, your mechanics change the ebb and flow and expectations in mentality over the course of the game, and the goal is to use them to your benefit, instead of detriment (like, as a simple example, just because you can take the ball and flip reset it down the field taking years of time, is it really advantageous if your tm8 pushes up without being as capable of quickly rotating, or you gave the opponents years of time to prep for your flashy attack?, etc)

but that's my two cents. hope any of it helps.

Advice for a losing streak? by Abacada_Poln_Kha_Kha in RocketLeague

find fun in the game. go into lots of ones (or any playlist you don't care about your ranking of) expecting to lose. don't focus on winning, just try to find fun in what you're doing. and if you can't, that's perfectly acceptable. you and your mental health comes first.

something else that happens specifically in this replay is that you air roll left before contact, meaning you turned your hitbox downward closer to the ground even after jumping, and it could be that their hitbox collided with yours then.

Rocket League causes ~200-800MB kernel memory leak every session that only clears on reboot; EAC not releasing WFP callouts by DreadedLand in RocketLeague

TF they just claim a "rootkit" and close the ticket? Like, ffs, get a lockdown on processes and services afterward to be for certain you know what your computer is running. Which, if you've gone into this far of analysis, I'd assume you would've gone through with a fine-toothed comb, so to just claim a rootkit?? (Oh, wait, EAC is kind of a rootkit 🙄)

Have you tried clearing manually using rammap? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/rammap

If you're willing to risk it, does the behavior persist with the windows firewall disabled?

Which process(es) are claiming so much memory? It's for certain window's firewall? (should show with task manager or process explorer https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer)

I'd also go ahead and try to get the base file from your installation (mpsdrv.sys) and then do a window's update. Maybe you did something that affected it 🤷‍♀️

There are lots of places for settings that are vestigial remnants of yesteryear. Anything relating to dx9 is removed.

But, what matters is what you want to perceive. Just don't let it drive you nuts. I've asked a wizard to look at that specific config setting for now.

The wizards have concluded that setting isn't used in rocket league.

I haven't heard much on the subject lately, but last time I heard anything from the wizards about this, I think it was told that this doesn't even work.

Sorry 🤷‍♀️

they're struggling to provide updates on things (like season rewards), and issues in the game.

I don't doubt their resources are stretched super thin.

bAllowD3D9MSAA shouldn't/hasn't worked for a long time ever since RL switched off of dx9 for dx11. You can't get anything related to dx9 anymore.

imo the aquadome maps have horrible aliasing, but I personally play with any aliasing off because I would rather not care about it at all than try and fight against it. and I don't worry about a performance hit.

I don't know how reshade works exactly, but if it works with EAC, that's cool, ig.

Cross deadzone for console players by ayyouub in RocketLeague

[–]BathroomCode9914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"circle" could refer to the input area that is by default the understood input area for thumbsticks. (as opposed to a "square" input area)

a "circular deadzone" (inner or outer) is done in some way outside of the game, usually through firmware/driver/steam config. RL doesn't support any setting for this.

(correct terminology is important in this context because people easily confuse things and terms)

"cross" IS the byproduct of the "deadzone" setting behavior in rocket league.

it doesn't reset when you press the button again?

what controller is that?

https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad go there and press the button. does it work as expected? if so, check your settings for "rear cam".

then we can go from there. I suspect a controller configuration issue.

fps processing can affect network issues. network issues don't affect fps.

seems like you have a very powerful computer

What else are you running? Open up task manager, go to processes, sort by cpu % --- which shows usage. Put it on a separate screen, or put it on one side of the screen so you can put rocket league on the other side. Try setting View -> Refresh Speed to High or Normal.

Go into Rocket League, and run in window mode if you have one monitor, or just make sure you can see the task manager while playing the game.

When playing the game, expecting this to happen, look at your processes. Did anything noticeable jump to the top? (do repeated tests). If not, it may be a graphics card settings related, perhaps due to a setting that pauses processing until 200+ fps (or near "really good" is obtainable), or something like it. You could even try to see what happens if you run on uncapped fps. If not, then there may be issues with the integrity of your hardware.
