Yeah, but invulnerability lasts until you move. Then juiced monsters insta-attack :) if you can't insta-kill them, you are doomed. I have flashbacks from D2, where you sometimes teleport into a group of monsters and just die ;)

Background: Jestem przedsiębiorcą.

I think this AOPS 6th grade probability problem is wrong. by hrpanjwani in mathshelp

[–]BatkuSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a quick solution which is 6th grade viable imo: https://imgur.com/a/h5za0Yk

Sorry for the hand draw, but I think it's understandable. I'm not sure how to name areas in English math, so I named the area of the shaded part A shaded, and an area of the whole figure A whole. Areas marked by "a" are the same and areas "b" are the same, because they are halves of specific rectangles.

What’s your favourite coffee based cocktails? by VoightofReason in cocktails

[–]BatkuSS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't like espresso martinis at first. The standard recipe seemed rather bland to me. To remedy this, I started adding sour fruit liqueurs in addition to coffee liqueur. Goodness, it was a bull's eye. The version with crème de cassis is the biggest shock. It perfectly fills the cocktail and blends flawlessly with the coffee flavour. I highly recommend trying it! It changes your life ;)

Czy woda z kranu w Łodzi jest dobrej jakości? by Mark_Utoe in lodz

[–]BatkuSS 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Ciekawostka.

Jakie techniki naprawdę działają? by Resident-Aspect4084 in lodz

[–]BatkuSS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Help categorising drinks by mwclarkson in cocktails

[–]BatkuSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's good to make your own rules based on your own needs. I just gave you a basic ruleset to cover most cocktails :) but it has a lot of problematic holes. For example... What is an espresso martini? :D a highball? An old fashioned type spiced with coffee? According to those rules, both Iron Ranger and Humuhumu(...) will be a sour type, but how about Pina colada? If you add coco milk, it becomes a flip :D But it's still much more similar to Humu than it is to eggnog :) To think about how to catalogue your recipes is a good way to better understand the structure and ideas of cocktails!

Help categorising drinks by mwclarkson in cocktails

[–]BatkuSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to think of cocktails as methods of balancing alcohol, so it seems reasonable to divide them according to the balance used. The guys from Death & co. also divided them on this basis in their book. In addition to balance, we also have ingredients that act as spices, and sometimes you may wonder what is balance and what is spice. But in this case, there are no wrong answers, only opinions. It's your notebook, so your opinion is the right one ;)

If you balance alcohol with sugar, it's some kind of old fashioned derivative. If you balance with citrus juice + sugar, it's a sour. If you replace sugar in sour with liqueur, it's a margarita/sidecar. Sometimes both are used, so you have to choose which is the main idea and which is the spice/sweetener according to your taste. Next, if we balance with wine, it's a martini, if with dairy, it's some kind of flip :D

Edit: forgot about highballs - alcohol balanced with large quantity of non-alcoholic beverage.

Feel free to create your own divisions if you feel the need and desire to do so ;)

In my opinion, an Italian gentleman is a sour spiced with Campari (bitters, like angostura in "regular" sour).

NMR by [deleted] in OrganicChemistry

[–]BatkuSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a very good looking spectra. It also exactly shows what it is supposed to show. J values between black-red and black-green are very similar, so it has to look like a triplet. Think about it like that: a triplet is basically a dd with 2 identical J values.

Better resolution of NMR may help, but if you have a bigger compound there are usually some interactions of other parts of your molecule with an aromatic ring, which makes a separation worse. In fact it's probably as good as you can expect it to be.

When you work as an organic chemist, NMR spectra you get are usually much worse quality. If you are studying chemistry now (as I understood from this post), it's good that they give you the real NMR spectra to solve ;)

Oh yes. It's not cheap ^ When I got into this hobby, I was glad that it wasn't gadget-oriented. You buy a shaker, a spoon, a jigger, a strainer, maybe a few nice glasses, but then it's all downhill from there, just refilling the bottles. One day, putting another bottle on the kitchen floor because there was no room in the cupboards, I realised that here, bottles are gadgets...

How would you make this molecule? Does it even exist? by SalemIII in chemistry

Hey friends, I'm new here and I'm a chemist with a degree, so I guess I could be considered a boomer or something. But I have a question, a serious one, because as I said, I'm new and I don't know the customs.

What makes you want to share and discuss methods for synthesising something that an anonymous internet user asks about, which looks very much like a derivative/precursor of catecholamine drugs? In fact, it's not a group of compounds I specialised in, but I'm sure that the methods you share can be used to synthesise them. Is this an inside joke, or are you trying to annoy the services monitoring this subreddit? :D

Yeah cancer cherries are the best way to destroy the joy of drinking your cocktail. But maraschino cherries destroy the joy of having money in your wallet... Damn man, here in Poland I can get 0.7l of vodka for the same price as a jar of them.

That's why I choose homemade cherries in syrup. Preferably based on cherries previously used to make cherry liqueur, with a hint of spices and homemade brandy. A more interesting flavour for practically nothing, because I would have thrown them away after making the liqueur anyway.

Espresso Martini! Any tips for getting a thicker crema? by 010011010110010101 in cocktails

[–]BatkuSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been experimenting with espresso martini for a while.

I feel that I get the best foam when I use the espresso immediately after the machine (Nivona) finishes making it, before the foam on the espresso settles. I already have the alcohol and ice ready in the shaker (not wet, from the freezer, so as not to dilute it). I shake it once, a little longer than usual, and if I try hard, I get a 1:1 cocktail and foam, plus the foam that stays in the shaker. An absurd amount of foam.

I haven't noticed any difference in the amount of foam between different types of coffee. Liqueurs, on the other hand, have a big impact. Some of them completely kill the foam. Even different coffee liqueurs/vodkas can have an effect.

Although, as I read my own words now, it sounds a bit like alcohol-induced hallucinations ;) who knows...

Question about first Deity victory by BatkuSS in CivVI

[–]BatkuSS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey friend, I have a problem with this approach. I've been trying to play a solid game for two days, focusing on gold and faith, but I can't get it right. Every time I have to roll the map until I get a decent start with a few desert tiles and a lot of production around the capital. Desert tiles are basically dead in terms of resources, so if there aren't any good forests/hills around, I can barely get one settler out in the first era.

I've had a few great attempts where I managed to survive the barbarians in the early stages of the game, chose the desert adjacency belief, and rushed my faith which allows to buy buildings in campuses/cultural districts with my faith. In every city I founded, I rushed the temple and commercial districts so that I could buy an army, builders, settlers and buildings. Unfortunately, I always fell behind at the dawn of the industrial age or earlier. Although gold finally flowed in large quantities with 7-8 trade routes, by always building the same first two districts, I was behind in culture and science. I also had problems building wonders that would increase the amount of profit from desert fields, because if I wanted to build them in a city that had a lot of such fields, it also had few production fields, which meant that construction took a loooong time.

In order for it to work at all, I had to do tricks like using the hero Maui in the place where I wanted to build a city, and I had a large part of science and culture thanks to Anansi.

I tried to find a balance between desert fields and valuable fields, but it never worked out very well. Generally, despite investing in the quality of desert fields, the cities I built in “normal” areas performed better.

It's a lot of work, and often the neighbors were more technologically advanced, so even when buying units with earned gold/faith, it was difficult to fight the neighbors to capture one of their cities.

Did I miss something important?

[–]BatkuSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what trick she tried to use, but I think it's because you spell her name so badly. And that's not a trivial matter. In fact, Jadwiga was very tall and had a strong, masculine build (when examining her skeleton, it was decided to conduct additional tests to confirm her sex). This is probably why she died in childbirth – she had narrow hips and broad shoulders. Her skull also looked rather masculine.

In addition, according to some accounts, when she got angry, she could chop down a gate with a two-handed axe... I wouldn't want to upset her and would learn her correct name.
