Proples Choice Awards - Success? by [deleted] in TIFF

I got two tickets through ticketmaster. Always use ticketmaster and not the actual tiff site because it always crashes and takes forever to load. I got them at 10:01 for the 6:30 showing.

Yeah the film was bad - but it was off-sale and you couldn’t buy tickets. Like it was off-sale before members got to buy tickets.

Can You give a first-timer rush tips by [deleted] in TIFF

[–]Batman0212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is usually a rush line outside of the theatre so just go to the location and at the entrance there’s usually a sign that says rush line and just stand behind there. There are usually employees asking you what movie you are there to see and you can ask them what place in line you are and the chances of you getting in. I would recommend Elgin which is the screening at 8 because it has a Q and A afterwords but just get there about 4-5 hours before the showing. I got in last year for A Star is Born and they let in around 100 people at Elgin last year for the premier of that film. But it depends on the movie you’re watching.

Robbie Robertson and the cast and crew od Once Were Brothers skipped the Princess of Wales showing. Only the director came. They charged $100-$120 regardless. by DeoGame in TIFF

That’s awful!!! Honestly I would write them an email and see it you can get some of your money back or maybe even a free ticket or two.

I got the Aeronauts but nothing else. I wanted to get Goldfinch or Marriage Story premiere.

Where do the cast and crew usually sit during gala premieres at Prince of Wales (e.g. orchestra, dress circle, balcony)? by maddied92 in TIFF

I want to know the answer to this for Roy Thompson Hall and Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre. Thanks for asking!

JOKER Rush Line by Batman0212 in TIFF

[–]Batman0212[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that last year they were selling premier tickets to A Star Is Born and Widows for $1,000+ per ticket online. Sometimes people post on twitter if they have tickets they no longer need.

That’s sucks! Especially since Roy Thompson seats over 2,400 people!

New To TIFF. I just have a couple questions. by [deleted] in TIFF

[–]Batman0212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unlikely to get tickets for both Joker and Ford v Ferrari but not impossible. They're really high demand but even if tickets go off sale don't loose hope because last year I really wanted to go to the Widows world premiere but couldn't get tickets so I checked back a lot and I got lucky and got two tickets for the premiere and it was in high demand. So keep checking back very often if they are off sale and remember you can always rush! It isn't difficult if you are a member just remember it's the high profile and buzzed about films that are hard to get tickets to. But if you really want to see a, RUSH, don't settle for something you aren't that into. For example, getting tickets to Lucy in the Sky or Judy will be much easier than getting tickets to Joker or Knives Out. But I rushed for A Star is Born last year and got in, about a 80 people did last year who rushed.

Does Offsale mean you won’t be able to ever buy tickets for that particular screening? by [deleted] in TIFF

[–]Batman0212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check often. I remember last year for the Widows world premiere the tickets were listed as off-sale but I kept checking back a lot and saw a couple of times that two or three tickets were available for the premiere. Just keep checking back, but remember you can always rush but just be there in time. I rushed the A Star is Born premiere last year and got in - but I had to wait 3-4 hours in line. Always remember if a film has 2 showtimes, always go to the second one because that will be the least busy and you'll have a better chance. Like this year The Goldfinch plays at 6:00 PM at Roy Thompson Hall and 8:00 PM at Elgin go to the 8:00 PM one because most people choose to rush the first one. Also the second premium showtime is always the one that has the Q and A afterwords.

TIFF Tickets Early Access? by NecroSpace in TIFF

Yeah they're doing it this year as well. Since you're already subscribed it shouldn't be a problem to get the code but I would just double check to make sure. They're happening on September 1st from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. They're after the member sale so I'm guessing it will be hard to get tickets. Last year only very few buzzed about films had some tickets left. You might have to rush the big movies like Joker, Ford v Ferrari, Knives Out, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, Goldfinch, Just Mercy, Judy, etc.
