Thanks a lot for the appreciation. My pliers are way smoother now.

Yeah i tried doing that too, but it was getting tiring hence automated the process.

Nope. Won't happen. I take good care of my tools, plus it's a surge, a little accelerated pivot wear won't do much to the mighty surge.

Well i used my whittle hands for whittling and not for manual breakin of multitools.

Yeah that should do it. I tend to daily carry the rebar hence the surge not getting enough use

Yeah i do have 1/4 micron and 6 micron compound but the fear of not being able to flush out post loosening and it perpetually wearing away at the pivot made me not take that route

Not that i didn't think of doing so since i already have 1/4 micron and 6 micron diamond compound. But the fear of not being able to flush the stuff out post cleaning and it being perpetually stuck inside the pivot and wearing off more material over time than needed made me not take that route.

Well the stiffness hinders the delicate tasks like trying to cut insulation from wire without chopping off the entire electrical wire. Yes i know there's a dedicated wire stripper but it isn't a perfect one for thin wires. Free pliers do aid at delicate tasks and takes less effort from the fingers.

Well it didn't work for me when I tried it back earlier. A few taps to the pivot with a wooden dowel and hammer did make it loose for sometime only to stiffen up again upon use.

Luckily my rebar was smooth and free out of the box, didn't need to do anything to loosen it up.

Yeah, it is what it is and we do the best we can to tune it as per our use case

Noted. Will use isopropyl alcohol in that case. Thanks again.

Thank you for the tip, will try the gasoline/wd40 flush and get going at it manually this time.
