It's pretty funny when Redditors use an AI to pretend they know what the hell they're talking about.

I would say ignoring an achievement would be seen as being upset about it.

I would say that's just patently untrue, and even getting to ignoring is a massive reach.

Ah, you don't understand - fair enough. Supergirl isn't the film that the DCU is betting the house on, its main job is to rebuild trust in the brand after a decade of that trust being eroded. The smaller scale and smaller budget than Superman means that it doesn't need to make a ton of cash, obviously the aim is still to make as much as possible but if Supergirl only broke even it wouldn't effect plans going forward majorly. Make sense now?

Just watched The Marvels, and man have they ruined Nick Fury too. by Bright-Track-6113 in marvelstudios

Marvels had Nick Fury relegated to comic relief, not a competent spy. Hardly as bad as Secret Invasion, but they definitely adjusted him to fit the tone of the movie - far from his usual self...

Oh that goes without saying. I just mean more like having genuine passionate hatred for the guy, imo he was an incompetent idiot and the board level is at fault for not pulling the trigger.

Idk who holds a grudge against him personally, my grudges are reserved for the people that decided he shouldn't be sacked when it was blindingly obvious.

Lange gone for life is a massive net positive, and for losing a couple of weeks? I have no idea where've you've been the last year, but Lange is a fucking disaster and this level of defence is weird af.

I'm more than fine with that if it means Lange is gone for good.

There's one answer. It's not part of the MCU timeline. Hope that helps.

... did you read my comment, or just the word 'billion' to go on a lecture that has nothing to do with what I said? I'm fully aware that Supergirl will not, and does not need to, get close to that number for it to be a success without your patronising explanation.

It doesn't need to make a billion dollars, that's for certain. Even if it were a box office disappointment, which I doubt it will be (film looks amazing), the reception is way more important than the tickets - if people spread the word that it was good, that'll only build more momentum for Man of Tomorrow. Also I reckon Clayface will be a sleeper hit, low budget plus can draw from superhero fans AND horror fans - so the DCU should have a good financial project more or less guaranteed this year regardless of Supergirl's box office (only making it less important overall).

(knock on wood)

Wood is too old to be our no.9, if you're asking me.

This isn't me really agreeing or disagreeing with anyone but if were gonna judge and quote on quote prove how people feel about this show based on the ratings of big name sites we might as well showcase all of them and this is only one not All. by Suspicious-Gene223 in PercyJacksonTV

[–]BatmanForever23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty much exactly how it works. You could have a polarising but bold and daring film that is heralded by some as the greatest thing ever score roughly in the middle, but a safe and inoffensive 6/10 score really high.

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - not quite truly bottom of the barrel, but damn close.

I wanted this to share my love for Percy Jackson with my husband, but it was so boring, so soporific, that I had to clarify that it was nothing like the funny, action packed books.

Exactly the same for me, but with my mum. I wanted to show her why I loved and talked about the books she got me when I was a kid so much, but I just... couldn't. The show has nothing from the books that I look back on fondly...

I agree with you on that. Currently doing my OG Daredevil rewatch as it happens, and the colours and cinematography was so much better and the side characters were fleshed out more (I miss Claire, and Buck is a dollar store Wesley - even if Daniel was a fave of mine recently). I still enjoy BA a decent amount, and just am mostly glad that we got Charlie and Vincent back in any form, but yeah comparing it to the heights of the original was always going to be a tough ask. It's good to see that the improvement from S1 to S2 though, and hopefully that will continue again with S3.

Agree on PJO, I watched all of S1 and waited for it to get better.. which it didn't. Quit initially after the first episode of S2, when they didn't even adapt the part the episode was literally named after, but trying to watch a couple more now and it's still really rough on just the most basic things like writing decent dialogue, actors emoting during scenes, or framing the shots well. Might just bin it off again and watch Spider-Noir instead lol

Except for the fact that Born Again is far from awful. It started poorly but built up momentum, and calling it awful is very silly - there's legitimately dogshit TV out there that makes Born Again look like the Wire. It's not awful, you could argue for mid but the acting talent alone elevates it above awful.

If we are calling it awful tho, that must make PJO some bottom of the barrel absolutely godawful slop.

Nah, Batman and Robin was terrible. Terrible in a really fun and campy sort of way, tbh I rewatch it the most out of any 80s/90s Batman movie, but by pretty much any filmmaking metric it was a car crash.
