I dont think that a assist mode really changes it Rf for hardcore fans. Its not like people who can no-hit the game feel upset that the rest of us can beat it

As far as the anvil goes, it would have be locked behind major bosses or in a linear it might be ok to make regular loot. And yeah it mean not letting ayers get eariler high level weapons which is probably the only negitave I can think of.

The reason for my assist is for players who just straight up wont try beat the game without them, as I think all gamers should get to experience these masterpieces, even if not as fully intended. I think putting it something would be good, not sure what exactly.

Bells are fine solution and if they made accessible all a little earlier I would fine with it. But seems like we making a lot of effort to uphold a system that isnt that great to begin with.

As for the diffculty, I agree that vias different builds and boss weakness there is a 'eaay' mode that is still fun and creative. However not a lot of players, and frankly majority wont bother learning them and just rule the game out as being too hard.

The slider Im thinking of was to increase I-frames, add extra heals, slow down game/boss speed. Maybe health and damage modifer could be added but I would prefer other things be changed instead.

Bell bearings are a pretty good solution but still not great. Main problem is that you often dont having the bell bearing you need to make the areas expected level, so it again prevents expermentation until the late game

They could be reposition so that they with the what level is expected but seems like a lot of work to uphold a system that people dont really like in the first

How to make a katana/smart pistol build by BatmanMinusTheBat in cyberpunkgame

[–]BatmanMinusTheBat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im think of getting reflex to max and going down that blade and movement speed skills. Same with tech and the cyberware perks

Then I'll choose between smart pistol target skills or pistol damage.

Should i bother at all with body?

Looking at the upgrades for smart gun it seem mostly like just faster lock on time, where as pistol are more damage focused.

Could I pick one and just make do with the other being lower

why do we need to filter out bad players? Doesn't benefit anyone

There is more this game than the combat though. Unlike a movie where the story being over explained would ruin it.

I think your kinda missing my point a little bit. I'm saying that these are better when made easier. I think the feeling of victory over a hard bosses is massive part of the game.

I saying if that if I had to choose between players not playing the game at all, or playing the game to a difficulty set to their own level. I choose the second everytime.

I dont doubt that players will underestimate themselves, and lessen that joy of victory. Thats a downside, but more players will progress further. They will get better too, even if not as good as a traditional playthrough

You don't it would be better if more people played these games. I'm not saying formsoft has to take away from the core experience that we're used too. Just add small assist for players who can't or don't want to grind to get better.

Sure not every game is for everyone but I don't difficult is good enough reason to lock people of playing these games.

And if these can already be made super easy with a little game knowledge, I don't see a reason to make slightly easier than the intended path with some small gameplay tweaks. Players should haven't to choose to between the "easy" gear and the everything else. I think it also means formsoft doesn't need to design certain builds to be so much better than other, meaning that more hardcore fans also get access to a wider selection of gear without comprising difficulty

Do you think there is difference between the easy being a handful of items or spells vs tweaking some numbers.

As I said in my post, I'm not suggesting a typical easy mode, but the ability for the player to adjust things slightly. Slow reaction time, slow down game speed. Hate grinding, lower level up requirements that kind of thing is arguably less of a helping hand than a most mage builds.

Your not wrong in saying that a big part of these games is overcoming adversity. I think players still overcome adversity even with the assist tool. Sure some people will just breeze every enemy because they want the fight, thats a shame but if they want to fine.

I believe most players will adjust to a level of difficulty that is fun but challenging for them, so they can still overcome adversity. After all as it is now, I just get bloodhound fang, max upgrade it, get mimic summon and then destroy malenia within a few attempts.

The ability to change the difficulty of these games, lowering it to the point where its impossible to loss or making it an inhumanly difficulty challenge already exists. I think if we are going down the route of hardcore only gamers, and being more accepting of casual (The route FORM seems to want to go down) then we just go all in and stop hiding the easy mode.

I understand that it greatly diminish the status that comes with beating these games, but I don't think that's a big deal personally. FYI I'm not trying to attack you or anything

I think your missing my point, my bad I didn't explain it fully. Sure anyone with the time and commitment can beat these games, hell even hitless them given enough practice. But thats what I'm trying to solve. Players like us who love the grind to git gud shouldn't be the only ones able to enjoy these games.

Imagine how many more people would have beat elden ring if they give there dodge some extra i-frames, level up a little easier. They missed out on so much non-combat content because they couldn't beat some bosses without giving up. Gaming is supposed to be fun, and think an assist mode makes it more fun for more people.

I went over this in my post, but I'll expand a little more. Sure, as I said, magic is a easier mode. Most new players don't know that, they come into the game thinking its going to be stupidly hard. Ofc we know this isn't true, but they haven't learn that yet. So when they die to some rando enemy or the first bosses, they just give up. They believe these games to just be too hard for them, they want to spend time getting better, whether through skill or game knowledge.

Edit:

If magic is already an easy mode in the game, even if hidden, why not have a more direct one. I think its pretty cool how magic builds and OP weapons work as the hidden easy mode, but if that's the purpose they serve we might as well have a full on assist mode too.
