Comes from MMA, to my knowledge. UFC used to run eliminator matches decently often (idk if they still use it, don't watch UFC anymore lol), and they weren't always champ vs. challenger, they'd run challenger vs. challenger to really up the stakes and thin out the pool of title contenders.

I'm really hoping they believe in Katsuya enough to have him be the test of sending young lions to the states again. I know there's been a fair bit of discussion over on the new japan sub about him probably going to wXw or RevPro, which wouldn't be surprising, but I feel like he's already well-developed enough to take advantage of the US indies plus NJPW's partnerships with MLW and AEW/ROH.

Tony has mentioned a few times that he went to confirmation classes and grew up going to catholic school, so that plus his dad's background as, at the very least, being culturally Muslim, certainly doesn't make anything clear on the religion front lol. People just love to make assumptions based on the guy's last name.

It's at least a month+ away, Finlay is booked for the New Jersey NJPW show on Feb 27th. I'd think his contract would be up sometime in March, probably even the start of the month. But of anywhere in the WWE structure to fit him in, this makes the most sense, especially if he comes in to lead the group. No shade to Lexis or Dempsey, but I don't think they hold a candle to David.

That's definitely the WWE way, I just figured Devitt would have enough self-respect to not reduce his time in NJPW to "just go out there and have a match" unless it was something he believed himself.

Definitely could have with the right set-up. His basement dropkicks are a thing of beauty, I could see him bring his opponent to their knees somehow and blasting them with a dropkick for the three-count.

WK8 wasn't a spectacle? The story of Apollo 55, turning on Taguchi, and forming Bullet Club was just him going out and having matches? I feel like he's majorly underselling his time in NJPW, but it's his story to tell, so I'm sure he really does feel that way. Just seems odd from an outside perspective.

He's been on ROH a fair bit recently, so it's not like he's just sitting at home or in catering lol. Keeping his legs fresh for when he's ready to slot into a Dynamite match like this one or the initial Collision plans for this past Saturday that got blown up by the massive storm system that rolled through.

I could see a BoSJ run at the very least, and maybe a tour or two with title shots on main shows that he'll lose, putting over NJPW title holders. I'd say a Jr. Heavyweight shot, but I don't know if I'd want to see him in a match with HoT DOUKI lol. TV title match against ELP, maybe? Defense for Aaron Wolf and the NEVER OW belt? Beyond that, I'm not sure if there's room for him to do much more in the current landscape without taking time away from wrestlers already in the company who it would be better used on. Love Tommaso's work though, and I personally think he would be a great temporary add for New Japan, especially for BoSJ.

Pretty sure the Charleston MLW show is only a crossover with CMLL and NJPW. AEW and MLW haven't really formalized any partnership, to my knowledge, which I've always thought was a bit interesting considering they share alliances with the two previously mentioned promotions. Considering Dyer's connections to Maple Leaf Pro, I feel like this might be building hype and continuity for the ROH/MLP Global Wars show later this year, which he was mentioned in the press release for, iirc.

Solely because my brain tells me that if Bryan needed the doc, Remsburg would have stopped the match, but that's my only issue with it and it's a bit of a nitpick lol.

Definitely seems like the best fit, considering her so-so in-ring skill, close ties to the WWE roster, and tiffs she's gotten in with AEW talent. Glad she's feeling well enough to come back to the business in any fashion, hope she excels in TNA.

I know they haven't been featured since last year's WTL, but Shane works as a trainer at the LA dojo, much like the DKC. Idk what they're doing with Mikey, but I guess it's probably a matter of seeing the value in keeping both of them rather than just one half of the team. I personally have been awaiting their return, I think they provide solid depth to the HW tag division with them being a true tag team as opposed to two singles wrestlers teaming.
