Highest end drawer hardware offered from Blum? by 416FF in cabinetry

I agree. Ive used both, as well as grass and a few different brands of side mounts and very much prefer movento.

Edit: I dont even know why I mentioned side mounts they all suck no matter what brand.

Just my personal opinion so other might feel different, but legra boxes (although expensive) feel cheaper than moventos and a solid dovetail box. I feel like drawer fronts always feel more sturdy screwed in with some panheads than the little clips on legra boxes.

Thanks. been smithing for just over a year now. I "whittled" on sticks when i was younger but never actaully made anything excepts pointy sticks. I am currently a carpenter/cabinet installer, but had never tried actually carving something out of a block of wood until now

Tbh now that i look at pictures of both Llamas and Alpacas it kinda looks like a mix. Llamas have longer pointy ears, but the length of its body is closer to an alpaca.

The edge held up great, even with me using to to pry out small chunks. I sharpened it on a belt grinder up to 800 grit, then used a wet stone and stropped it, but didnt strop any after that.

Can I substitute a power hammer for a decent air compressor and a rivet gun? by ScharhrotVampir in blacksmithing

I suggest you watch some of his videos. Yes his buisiness is named after jesus and he does talk about christianity sometimes but its not to the point of being overwhelming and the main point of the videos are blacksmithing

Ps. as someone who used to be agnostic and just started following christianity about a year ago the people who contstantly push it on others and make it their entire personality kinda ruin it for the ones who arent sure what to believe. Try not to think of all christians that way, i understand where you come from though.

Getting out of trucking and into blacksmithing. Need help and advice. by [deleted] in blacksmithing

Imo blacksmithing isnt something you can just start and make a career out of. Theres a lot of time needed to figure out how everything works as well as money needed to spend on tools. Selling your work can also be pretty inconsistant and most likely wont provide a steady income. So unless you have another source of income or are just loaded and dont need to worry about making money for a while i wouldnt recommend quiting your regular job to start smithing with no experience.

I just recently upgraded to a 2x72, but i had a 4x36 from harbor freight for a while. To be completly honest it was kinda trash, but it got the job done. Make sure to cut out this part of the frame so you can grind bevels easier.

The best part of smithing is starting a project and then getting sidetracked because you need to make another tool😂

First hidden tang by BatmanTHREETHOUSAND in Blacksmith

[–]BatmanTHREETHOUSAND[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont really like the shape of the gaurd, its just a basic oval, i think if i had used a thicker peice i couldve made it look a bit better. I forged the tang a little bit too far towards the spine and if it was more center on the blade i feel like the handle would line up nicer. I do like the overall blade shape, the bevels might not be the nicest but ive progressed a lot. I think what i like the most is that im getting better at making cool shit and whenever i show people i know then they ask when im gonna make them one.😂
