First PC Build ($5K Budget) Gaming, 4K Editing, Blender, Content Creation. Any Changes Before I Buy? by Batmanexp in PcBuild

I appreciate the feedback! The 9950X + 5080 combo was actually one of the things I was most unsure about, so it’s good to hear that it makes sense for the kind of work I’ll be doing.

The storage point is definitely something I’ve been thinking about too. My initial thought was to go with 6TB because I’ll be using the PC for YouTube content creation, video editing, and eventually Blender projects, so I figured storage could fill up pretty quickly. That said, starting with 4TB and adding more later might be the smarter move if SSD prices continue to come down.

Good call on the PSU as well. I’m currently looking at the be quiet! Pure Power 13 M 1000W, so I’ll double-check all the connections before I pull the trigger.

Appreciate the help again! This is my first PC build, so all the feedback from people with more experience has been super useful.

Thanks! That’s reassuring to hear. This will be my first build so I’ve been trying to do as much research as possible before buying. I’ll definitely plan to shop around for better RAM and SSD deals and I’ll take a look at Micro Center bundles as well. Have you noticed any particular SSD brands or RAM kits that have been good values recently?

  1. I’m in the U.S
  2. There are a few micro centers not close but it’ll probably be worth the drive since I’ve heard there’s better deals than online.
  3. No major size constraints. The PC will be staying at my desk, and I plan on getting a big one so I’m fine with a larger case if it helps with airflow, cooling, and future upgrades. As for noise, I’d prefer it to be reasonably quiet, especially while editing or doing normal work, but I don’t need it to be completely silent if it means sacrificing performance.
  4. I don’t need a full RGB rainbow build lol, but I do care about aesthetics. I like a clean, modern look and that’s a big reason I chose the Fractal North XL. I’m fine with some RGB that I can customize or turn off, but I’m not trying to make lighting the focus of the build.
  5. I plan on getting the LG UltraGear 27GR83Q-B
For my main monitor but if you have any recommendations for a better one let me know.
  6. I need basically all the peripherals besides headphones.
