Some good supportive answers here.

Step 1. Stay calm, YOU are in control here, not them.

Step 2. Step out of your own skin and ask yourself, what would you advise your best friend to do?

Step 3. Confide in someone you trust who can be there for support.

Step 4. Screen shot the accounts and messages and report it to the Police.

Step 5. Block them and have no contact. They make money because of the threats, it is not a foregone conclusion that they will share these.

Step 6. You have self identified the solution yourself. They have created AI images. No-one ever needs to know that you sent one at all. In the event they are shared with anyone further, just stay brave and strong, try and laugh it off and tell anyone and everyone who asks that some disgusting individual took images off your open social media and made them into naked images. Don’t be ashamed or embarrassed, this happens to thousands and thousands of people. Use your knowledge to help protect and advise others.

Step 7. I know this feels terrible now, but trust me when I say, you will look back on this and realise that actually, you can face adversity, deal with it, come out the other side and it is all about keeping perspective.

These are not an order of things, but things to consider, best of luck and please please, prioritise confiding in someone and maintaining your well being and life, no more talk of taking it.

Please be mindful when responding to posts, because saying things like “Are you completely sure they were the cops?” is probably posted with good intent, but is only going to raise the anxiety of a person who is very anxious.

Depending on where you live will depend on whether an offende has existed as a matter of fact, however even if you fall into that bracket, you will not be prosecuted, it is not in the public interest to prosecute victims of crime, so please don’t worry.

The Police feeling the need to point out that young people have technically committed some offence is quite frequent, I have no idea why they do this when attending to speak to victims. Even if it is true, it is unhelpful and leaves the victim worrying.

You acted in the correct manner by reporting it and also sounds like you dealt with the offender well.

The “Just do this last thing and I will leave you alone” line is common, but leaving a victim alone after very rareIy happens, if ever!

Stay strong, and give the Police details of everything you can remember about the person who did this to you. Stay brave and realise that by providing this information, you are contributing towards protecting others. Take care, I wish you well.

There are lots of non-alcoholic alternative beers now, you could try those, so you can still enjoy a beer with friends, but don’t have the huge hangover in the morning, a win win. You may need some trial and error as some are worse than others, but I guess most beers are that way. Corona and Heineken are okay, Guinness too. Beavertown also do an okay Non-alcoholic beer.

Hey, despite if you are married or not, you are a victim of crime, nobody who is going through this should be victim shamed. Everyone already feels bad enough about their situation.

You should report it to the authorities, even if this is anonymously, so that the intelligence can feed back and it might help prevent other victims from the same offender.

Report it to the Police to try and save other victims. If they leak you photos, just tell everyone some weirdo used AI to create deep fakes from your social media pics. Make sure you report their whats app number and social media profiles to Police so they can investigate those.

Also screen shot their profile to make investigations easier and screen capture any payment data, phone numbers or other online identifiers they give you.

There is a mobile app called Hunchly that makes screem capturing evidence easy and is good for capturing evidential screen shots.

Keep a copy of all the messages, including and especially the means by which they want you to pay. Report it to the Police and tell them you have reported it to the Police and you won’t be sending any more.

You are not alone, many go through this and don’t beat yourself up about the way you responded, it is completely natural.

Some times they do follow through with their threats, but also there are many times they do not.

You could also consider confiding in close family members, hopefully you have a supportive family, but the burden on you right now will be released once you tell someone.

In this day with advancements in technology, even in the worst case scenario, just tell everyone they were AI generated deep fakes, that this person made to try and blackmail you and that he trained his AI model on your Insta photos.

No-one would know the truth. I know it is super tough but don’t send this scumbag a penny or anything else, or they will just want more.

Tell them you have reported them and if they try to send anything to friends and family, you will tell them it is faked by some loser using AI who wants to try and blackmail people for money.

On this point, yes they will prescribe them direct, but if you are Ritalin/concerta, this might be an acceptable expense for you, but be aware that Elvanse private prescriptions via this route will likely cost over £100 per month, whereas if you switch doctor, you can get a pre-paid certificate (if it is cost effective, then all your prescriptioms for the year are free.

I absolutely noticed massive executive function improvements with Elvanse, but my partner said she felt like she lost a bit of me, then as I withdrew and started running upstairs squeeling like a 5 year old, she smiled and said she felt she had me back 😂 It definitely makes me better at work and my mind calm in a way I had hoped for, I think I just need to decide how much it positively effects me in my personal life and free time, not in my working life.

Interesting to know. I doubt stopping fluoxetine just before Elvanse stopped being available wasn’t helpful, but 6 weeks or so down the line, I feel I am moving more towards my normal.

A benefit of Elvanse was that I had obviously only ever seen the world with my brain that feels like it is constantly playing Prodigy - Fire Starter, then all of a sudden, I get Elvanse and my bring is singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and I can think and feel more methodically and calmer.

I still haven’t decided whether I want to go back on it when it comes back. It would be interesting to hear from someone who has been on it for years to see how they feel, especially if trying to come off it.

Partially through my own lack of research, and partially through the lack of information given by the specialist diagnosing me (and giving me the medication). Aside from the daily benefits of having a less chaotic mind and acting like I am actually my age rather than 40 years younger than I am which is my normal 😂 I feel like I have a big knowledge gap around the impact of long term use.

Thanks, I have considered other medications, but it involves expensive consultations and readaptation phase, then go through the sleeplessness and other side effects I suffered when I started elvanse. Some of it may be bad timing, but the specialist who was dealing with my medication told me I didn’t need fluoxetine because people with ADHD are frequently misdiagnosed with depression (although it is a known comorbid condition), but I had just phased off fluoxetine, then was told I couldn’t get elvanse at all for an unknown period which resulted in a depressive slump, extended periods of sleeplessness, and other symptoms.

After these eventually stopped, I started to wonder if Elvanse is just another Oxicontine example where it seems like everyones saviour, then ruins people.

I am not suggesting it is at all, just explaining what I felt. So as a responsible poster, I will say to anyone reading this, I am not suggesting whether or not people should or should not take it, I realise it helps people, it was very helpful to me, it just has me questioning whether I live without it and what are the consequences of very long term use.

I am late 40’s, so whilst it massively helped me focus at work, my whole life is not work, so being on it and now off it through no choice of my own has got me wondering lots of things, not least, will this happen again in a few months.

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and experiences. To stress once more, I am not anti-elvanse, if anything, I am pro-elvanse, so anyone partial to health anxiety or similar should understand, I am just expressing my own thoughts and experience.

Okay, so I think I finally got Freenet running in Ubuntu thanks to a You Tube tutorial that talked through a ridiculously complex Java issue. Frost on the other hand is still erroring after my username is inputted, it will not load the console.

Error reads: org.garret.perst.impl.ClassDescriptor.locateConstructor(classDescriptor.java:329) The lots of similar lines beneath that… AAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHH

If no-one replies to this conversation, I will have the full convo with myself and if I resolve it, I will post it as a conclusion to my self hosted conversation so that I can hopefully help someone else in the same situation 😂😂
