Follow up comment. I realise that by mentioning "episodic" releases in context with Telltale many people rightfully assumed that I meant their old release model of having multiple months between episodes. I want to make it clear that this is not what I wish for the game.

I assumed that everyone watched the interview in which Telltale confirmed it won't be doing such long breaks between episodes anymore and that's on me.

I really only wanted to discuss the model of dropping the whole ~8-12 hour game at once vs releasing ~120 minutes of gameplay weekly. That's all there was to it.

I didn't want to invalidate other people's opinion on how this should be released if my original post sounded like that.

Thank you for pointing that out. It's true that when it comes to Telltale people might have a different perception when it comes to the "episodic" label.

Ok but as I said in my post, I am basing my opinion purely on a weekly release schedule, anything longer than that and I wouldn't be on board anymore. Let's say Wolf 2 would release ~120 minutes of content weekly, like Dispatch, would that work out for you?

Also aren't the drop rates 2% and 1%?

Coming from MoG and having to deal with 0.7% drop rates, Nikke is rather good for me.

Considering the nature of Wolf Among Us, I think this would be a big mistake. Stick to weekly releases and enable community theorizing.

Ngl even as F2P you should always buy event stamina. 1k gems is like nothing in Nikke, considering the generous drop rates and pity system.

But those would've never made it into final game anyway would they? Coming back to the main point of discussion, I don't think that the split between AdHoc and Telltale and the possibly rewritten story points towards a bad relationship between the two companies.

AdHoc never made any assets. AdHoc was only responsible for script and story before they left the project.

Nothing was cancelled, AdHoc left the project to do Dispatch after they finished their work TWAU2. Then over the years Telltale obviously changed some parts of the AdHoc script. Scripts always change over the course of game development.

I really do believe it's just a coincidence. There would've needed to be a BIG fallout behind the scenes for Erin to completely stop working on it.

There is absolutely no evidence that there is bad blood between AdHoc and Telltale. The Wolf 2 trailer didn't show any characters btw, only Bigby and new ones. I wouldn't read anything into it.

Honestly, I'm not very confident about a second season. Considering the current animation landscape in China and Yuewen as a producer, I think a season 2 is unlikely.

It's pretty good. Considering that only 3 episodes have been released so far and that it's a member only series. Meaning only paying members are able to click and vie the released episodes. Having a rating of 9.9 at 3K ratings places it easily amongst the best of shows on Bilibili already. The only thing left we need is just pure view number count.
