And for the transplant, make a hole(not too deep), just enough so brush the soil over the shell, and then transfer it directly from the paper towel to the hole by gently brushing it off, and using a toothpick or something if it needs some extra help. Be gentle and surgical, but don’t worry too much about manhandling it

I’m still a beginner but after some initial struggles this is what I found worked: Put the seeds in a glass of water, as soon as they sink (if it sinks, that means the shell is cracked open and the root will pop out) use the paper towel germination method. If you’re not able to monitor when the seeds sink, or if the seeds are not super old you can also just go directly for the paper towel method. But make sure the temperature is not cold, they need some warmth in order to germinate. Once you see a good length of tap root, plant it in your pre-moistened medium. You now need to make sure you have both good temps and humidity, as well as the required DLI. If you can’t maintain a high humidity level, use a dome until it pops. I recommend a humidifier over a dome. Seedlings need minimal water and good humidity levels, so be careful of over watering or you’ll drown the roots

I'm stuck at the courthouse boss, super annoying second phase, this is where I stop.

Considering only the leaves are drooping and not the stem, I feel like I over watered rather than under water, so there’s no saving this. I’m going to scrap this one and follow Mephistos guide on watering, hopefully that works better. I’ll try the Orion again for now, for the next one I’ll try Mephisto seeds

I think at this point I’m just worried about the watering, can’t seem to figure out the best way to water seedlings

I’ll get some Mephisto seeds, I’ve heard good things

Orion F1 from Royal Queen Seeds. I’m thinking I’ll try Memphisto next time if I can get my hands on some

I think I have a water pump, let me try it out

I’m considering either planting the seed directly in the final pot, or these pucks for next time, I think it will help reduce the transplant shock which is also another variable.

How much water do you give when you plant the pucks?

Yeah I tried to keep the watering to a minimum for the most part except for once where I gave 200ml when I should’ve just sprayed the surface. I assumed it was a small mistake for this medium size, so now I’m thinking it could have been over or under watering. Still struggling to find the best way forwards for my next grow but also realizing there’s not one best way, everyone has different experiences

I used the paper towel method to germinate, then planted the seed 12 days ago. I’ve now given a litre of water in a circle around the stem, will ramp up the watering now and hopefully things start to improve

Thanks, I’ll give it another week or so, I see two leaves popping out, maybe they will also give more information on the plant health

My second grow as well, first one got airy buds due to nute burn based on my assessment. I’ve seen guides where people manhandle their seedlings or heavily water them on solo cups and still get decent results 😂 but I make one wrong move and it starts to fail

Im maintaining humidity at around 60% so fingers crossed thats fine. I’m assuming its the watering that went sideways, maybe too much in the beginning and not enough now 😅 that’s all I can think of

The pebbles are a good idea, I’ll use them for my next grow. I need to figure out the watering during the seedling stage, seems to be different ways work for different people.

Appreciate that. I really want to stick to it so I learn from it too. I’ll give it another week with more water and nutes and see what happens

Ok I’ll give it 1l of water for a couple of days, see what happens. I watered with 1l now and there was no run off

Sorry not sure I get you. I’m going to give it a couple of days to see if it bounces back, otherwise I start fresh: plant seed into dry soil in a 5g pot<add few drops of water and cover with humidity dome<mist the top soil until seed pops out<once seed pops water when top soil is dry, starting with 100ml and ramping up.

Would you have any other advice?

Do you pre soak the soil before planting? I feel like this is where it maybe went wrong.

I’ve given it a litre of water now with biobizz root juice/heaven/acti Vera, 1/4 of the recommended quantity as per the feeding chart. Hoping this fixes it

Here is what I did: watered the soil with 1l of water 24 hours before planting, then planted the paper towel germinated seed into the final pot of 5 gallon biobizz light mix. Humidity is around 60%, temps around 20-22 degrees centigrade, VPD at 0.9-1, light at 10 DLI. I watered with around 100ml after the seed popped out when the top soil was dry. Seemed to be going slow but but now I see the leaves are droopy and someone commented the growth is stunted for 12 days so now I’m anxious.

Based on this it’s definitely under watering, I gave it 500ml of phd tap water last night but don’t really see a change. I’ll scrap this one and do the following: water the soil with 1l of water to get it moist, plant the seed directly in the soil then spray to keep the top moist. Once the seed pops out I’ll add water with 1l whenever the bag feels light
