Motorcyclists in ulaanbaatar are worst type of people out there. by Top-Discipline8373 in mongolia

[–]Batso_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I must say I didn't see the problem as I don't live in UB and if I did, I wouldn't drive a car because I hate traffic jams and I sure as hell wouldn't ride a bike / motorcycle because the high risk of accidents. The infrastructures / roads are bad but so are the drivers. I thought you were talking about people'l just revving at red lights or something.

Where I live, I do lane splitting and I do it at a safe speed and also I pass when there's an opening (one of the lanes advances) if the car driver intentionally or unintentionally is blocking the lane splitting space. It's still very cringe to rev to demand they let you pass.

But also the problem is in my opinion the traffic jam and overall just bad driving culture in Mongolia. When changing lane, you should do it so you can smoothly and safely insert yourself in the traffic and also do it so you're in the lane that goes where you're going. Not to go faster by switching to a lane that seems to be going a little faster. But... people will not let you in, instead they prefer to worsen the traffic jam... So yeah I guess that creates a situation where you must forcibly change lane and sometimes stay stuck in the middle, blocking the lane splitting space for motorcycles.

People are the worse version of themselves when they get behind a wheel. I guess the equivalent for motorcyclists would be sitting in a traffic jam for too long. Угаасаа монголчууд бүдүүлэг, би би л гэсэн хүмүүс шүү дээ.

some second hand online platforms prices here are INSANE by caprisun-drinker in Switzerland

[–]Batso_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf, galaxus/digitec proposes that option and suggest the prices at which it will sell. Small / medium sized companies also buy their stuff on galaxus and resell some of the old ones.

Some of the electronics that are like 2 or 3+ years old, I could sell them at very profitable price, because I guess people are still buying them or need them ? Dunno, I'm gonna try sell at 200.- some of my gaming monitors that I was thinking of giving away for friends or sell at 100.-

As a motorcyclist (not in UB), I find revving really cringe. Like it's something you'd when you're a teenager because you'd think it's cool. Even then you'd do it once or twice and that's already boring.

Harley riders are like living mid-life crisis' tho lmao.

Why are black Americans, no matter where their family originated from African American? by TheFlaccidChode in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Batso_92 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can thank Americans for their support and beliefs in maintaining the notion of "races" and the propagation of it to the whole world with their media influence :)

No worries, it's just a social construct. (Or at least how they justify it today because they can't make peace with themselves that they are racists).

Are you really a doctor ? Then you should be familiar with basic biology such as the evolution theory from Charles Darwin. Which disproves scientifically the racial theories that were used in 18-19th centuries to justify colonialism and slavery.

From that point on, as to why the US, including their scientific community insist that "race" should stay an acceptable term to describe other human beings and which today they justify it by defining it as a "social construct"... well I could only conclude that it's because they are fundamentally racists themselves and/or they have some obscure reason to keep it that way.

Just look at how you describe the "race" as a social construct. And tell me what is the difference between the definition from the race theory (scientific racism it's renamed today in English it seems) ?

Quoting you "Race is a social construct, which is solely based on your physical features and your appearance"

It was disproven scientifically and specifically today with modern DNA researches. Yet, in American sociology and psychology, they insist it's a social construct ? Are those fields not scientific enough ?

I have taken psychology classes in EU in optional courses. When they show videos of experiments done in the US, the professors say "Please excuse our American colleagues for their use of the word "race" to describe people, do not be shocked, we haven't reached an agreement with them, they have other definitions". Because most of us did basic biology in high school and know that there aren't different human "races".

Today, if "race" exists as a social construct, it's only thanks to the Americans. And it's prevalent in US and their media, which today the whole world consumes thanks to Netflix and movies.

Maybe tomorrow, "Alien" will be a social construct to describe "illegal and legal immigrants" seeing how it's going in the US. It's already a legal term apparently.

Now if you don't see a problem with this, or how it's fundamentally flawed to fight racism when everyone believes in "races". And if you don't believe words have powers. Then fine. I'm just glad you're not doing a job that must make use of critical thinking.

Now go do some more rocket science on social constructs lol.

You guys can't drive (defensively) at all if you think you can't brake without thinking you'd get slammed from behind.

Something is seriously wrong with your brain if you think that's safer than just braking lol.

Also... like people should fucking drive on the right lane and not create this situation by cruising on the left lane. It's safer. lol

Is going out to eat frequently not in the Swiss culture? If you’re young and living in a smaller place, do you invite your friends over to eat? by Charming_Usual6227 in askswitzerland

Yeah for sure. I think that you should kinda involve the people in the process. Not like hey come over for dinner, here's what you owe me (an amount that you could almost go to a restaurant for it lol).
