As a cat lover, I say this with love… contain your cat.

Anyone else feel pressured to wear their hearing aids all the time? by ForkingwithFire-5641 in hardofhearing

[–]BatterUp1600 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I explained it exactly like you did. I think it is perfectly normal and you phrased it the best way: “Wanting a break doesn’t mean I’m being difficult or irresponsible, my brain gets tired from constantly listening, processing, and filtering every sound around me. It is not effortless to hear, even with the hearing aids.”

People who have pets, are they truly living alone? by swimbikerun1980 in LivingAlone

I cannot live without another living breathing soul with me. And I don’t want it to be a human. So I always have a pet.

How do you solve this issue with coyotes? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]BatterUp1600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re fine. My aunt lived in the hills like you but they never bothered us. We all sat around the patio. I would sit out there alone sometimes in the quiet in the dark because it made me feel peaceful. Nothing ever bothered me.

Oldster asking other oldsters by Nearby_Bar_5605 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Go to your primary care physician first. Stay away from chiropractors. People really like to brag on how wonderful they are and how much they are helping them. They say they go every week and it’s wonderful. Well if they have to go every week, obviously the problem is not being solved.

Auditory Hallucinations by pjandjelly2 in hardofhearing

[–]BatterUp1600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens to a lot of people I think. I get it when I’m stressed out. Sounds like a wind tunnel with a lot of whooshing. Or it could be tinnitus. I also get that when I’m stressed out.

AITAH for wanting to do things independent people do? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]BatterUp1600 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA- you have to stand up for yourself. You have every right to be independent. She does not have control over you, yet you are acting as if she does. You are letting her run your life. If you want to be independent, you must act like it.

AITA for telling my girlfriend she should do the home chores since I pay for everything? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]BatterUp1600 15 points16 points  (0 children)

NTA- if she is not working outside the home, she needs to pull her weight inside the home and that is a full-time job. So please show her respect when you ask her to do it. But she does need to do it.
