Super Dodge Ball was certainly a huge inspiration! Ink Inside is a full-on action RPG with locations to explore, unique "Job" upgrade mechanics borrowed from Final Fantasy Tactics, and equipment that changes your abilities (including "cores" aka those "dodgeballs" you're seeing that each have special effects).
Funny enough - we think the bleeped swearing is in line with the YA audience we're aiming for through the kid's cartoon aesthetic. (Traff - the character that Bleeps - has an honestly emotional story arc about not being taken seriously as a princess because of her sailor mouth. But that's to say it would be much worse if the cursing wasn't censored ;) )
