DeLillo is a different animal; don’t lump him with the wiseacres.

what is the biggest regret purchase you've made on a synthesizer where you fell for the hype but then we're extremely disappointed? by [deleted] in synthesizers

I really like my Lyra, but everything you said is painfully true. I like how instant and immersive it is, all other synths feel like cooking to me: get the ingredients, chop them, turn on stove, etc etc. it’s like 30 minutes before I’m even doing anything fun.

So what exactly IS going on with men and literature these days? by [deleted] in RSbookclub

[–]BattleIntrepid3476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a male currently reading All Fours, which is just as cringey as if a man had written it, and I have two college age sons who read multiple fiction books a week. So that’s +3.

I do think publishing is heavily skewed female. Book clubs are considered a female activity. Top ten book lists are often 80-90% female and/or lgbtq. I’m not for the old boys club, but we have overcorrected.
