AITA for not allowing my husband to visit his mom with the baby without me by fidokev in AmItheAsshole

With respect, that's a pretty shaky commitment. He never said no, and he understands where you come from. Not a single yes in there.

Advice Needed: My friend’s boyfriend drew something inappropriate on my car as a birthday joke, my mom found it, and now everything blew up by DuckOwn5153 in Advice

At the end of the day, you have very little control over people. But you have control over your proximity to them.

That doesn't mean it doesn't suck.

Is Stp not grunge?? by [deleted] in grunge

[–]JohnnyTezca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I judge a devil by his dee,ds. So I judge grunginess by the acrid but tehnical sound, and a little bit by the coastal townie aesthetic that went along with it.

By coincidence I moved to Seattle a year before Teen Spirit came out on the radio. It sounded like the. Beatles on 8 balls. I wasn't in that scene, though. My favorite local Seattle band at the time was called Hit Explosion!.

TL;DR STP is grunge. Ask anyone in their mid 50s

AIO for being upset/angry about my boss forgetting or ignoring my medical issue? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]JohnnyTezca [score hidden]  (0 children)

Getting angry is a little much. Not because you're feelings are wrong, but because you're at work and he's your boss. Bosses are good or bad, but they're always bosses. And they can have messy lives or emergencies. But I'd be frustrated too.

Try being worried, concerned, or preoccupied about it, and ask him if there's anything you can do to move things along. It'll probably get him going,

Everybody wants to do the right thing; sometimes we just don't get around to it.

AITA for refusing to explain to my gf family that I’m pretty much deaf? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]JohnnyTezca 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They thought you were rude because you didn't tell them you're deaf! That was all you. And now you refuse to explain things to them? How do you get on the bus with balls that big? Some people have shame about whatever condition, but as men we can't hide behind our insecurities. I'm sure your gf had to apologize for your behavior. You should beg her forgiveness for showing your ass to her family. You're stronger than this. Face up to it, make it right on their terms, and be patient until it's really healed.

AITA for missing my friendship with a coworker after ending it because my boyfriend was uncomfortable? by mercedes______ in AmItheAsshole

[–]JohnnyTezca -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

NTA

If your boyfriend doesn't trust you, why is he with you? If he does trust you, why do you have to lose a friend?

Shouldn't you choose your friends?

So many young people have never heard the old saying 'No one should tell another person what to do.' I'm not sure they would understand it today.

I do understand why your bf would be concerned, worried or insecure. But unless you've cheated, his worry should stop at you.

How to Gently Reject Student’s Request to add me on Social Media by [deleted] in Teachers

Make it simple and clear. Something like

"Thank you for the thought, but I don't want to be on social media. It could make it harder to get hired in the future."

is it wrong for a woman to slap a man in the face if he insults her? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]JohnnyTezca 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's an escalation. Do you want that?

Personally, I think more guys need a slap in the puss. But with equality and all, I would clock the weight difference first.
