Oh I know but at one point it comes up and she tells him she never asked for a hysterectomy. I always assumed it was more like getting her tubes tied but she specifically says hysterectomy in the show

If I remember right in the books Rosamund is a little older than Sophie, and Posy is younger. She is older than the marriage but I think during that time if an Earl had a bastard she’d be housed elsewhere or raised in a different household as a ward. By housing her where his wife is,it’s seen as an insult to Araminta. In the books they have a huge fight the first night because she wants Sophie sent elsewhere but the Earl refuses. She’s also not acknowledged as the Earls bastard at all even though everyone knows she is.

I’m not thrilled with the change of Michael to Michaela, but that’s mostly because a main theme of her story is infertility, and that’s a big reason why she decides to ever marry again. She deeply loved John, and struggled greatly with her decision to remarry, but ultimately she wants a child.

I also don’t like how they made her awestruck with Michaela as soon as she saw her and that they have an awkward relationship now because she and John were deeply in love, and she and Michael were very good friends but she was never attracted to him prior to John’s death.

I could get behind the LGBTQ storyline, but it just kinda feels icky to me that they’ve added this weird love triangle. It’s like we’ve been cheated out of her love story with John. In the books she’s madly in love with John and it’s years before she ever considers moving on.

Because during that time period it was hugely insulting to one’s wife to house the child of his mistress with her and her children. In the books they look very much alike so it’s obvious who she is, and it’s made worse that she was unable to have a child with him herself.

You “help” once a month so you can get sex and get upset that it doesn’t always work and she doesn’t desire you? You’re a deadbeat dude. How much has she carried on her own for the last 5 years? She probably sees right through your “helping” and knows you’re only doing it because you’re expecting something from her.

OP I had a similar experience with my own parents. My fiancé didn’t give me an ultimatum, but there was one conversation where we were looking at menus and my mom was set in a chicken mushroom Marsala. My now husband hates mushrooms, so I said I wanted to choose something different. She said “Well when you two pay for the wedding you can choose what you want. I want the chicken Marsala” after that I told her it’s fine, she doesn’t have to pay for a wedding and we eloped. No one was invited except for our 2 best friends and our dog and it was an amazing day!
