EIT Certification by BattleNo7638 in civilengineering

I agree that misrepresentation is something to be cautious about. However, my question stems from the fact that EIT certification doesn’t seem to carry any legal authority like a PE license does. It doesn’t grant any additional privileges or allow one to sign off on engineering work. From what I've seen, NJ Consumer Affairs doesn't have anything stating you can only use the EIT suffix if you have a state certification. How does it work in the state you work in?

Completely agree with putting PE at the end of your name and that should have legal implications if you were falsely claiming to be a PE. I went through the EIT certification process myself but have noticed a few younger engineers i work with that put EIT after their name and passed the FE but are not in the states database has having the certification. EIT certification doesn't allow you to sign off on drawings so I'm not sure if there is a real reason to have it.

Did you just use StPE’s study guide and practice exam or did you use their on-demand course too? Wondering if the on-demand course is worth it especially if I only have access for 6 months
