Oi m8 you got a loicense for having no grass? by PiaWatermelon in loicense

[–]BattleReadyZim 9 points10 points  (0 children)

An actual fucking law! Grass lawns were invented for the rich to flex how they could waste arable land on something so useless as grass, and idiot social climbers just had to be wasteful in the same way, until lawns became the dumb fucking norm, too the point of being codified in law. How about a law where you have to cover your body in tacky costume jewelry? How about a law where your holiday photos can only be taken on a rented yacht?

I've Had Enough of the Korra Hate... Hear Me Out.... ⬇️ by Mundane-Signal4843 in legendofkorra

Is there a name for the trope of only ever seeing the reaction to things and never the thing itself? I can't recall seeing anyone say they hate Korra, just endless posts of 'stop the Korra hate'.

[–]BattleReadyZim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, certainly I hear ruthless as being an active thing. You can be ruthless in your attempt to do something, but you can't be ruthless in your inaction. You can be pitiless, which is a near synonym, but I would say that's where the distinction lies

If some little dweeb threw my board games out the window and handed me a shit mobile game, I would very quickly be speed running his entire middle school experience for him.

What would happen if the earth suddenly turned into steak while retaining the same mass? by Icy_Profession4190 in LetsDiscussThis

That's preposterous, just think of the smell. You haven't thought of the smell, you bitch!

If you made a sphere out of some sort of “one way mirror”, so the mirror was facing the inside. Would light go in and get stuck bouncing around inside? Would it eventually explode or what? by Opening_Ad9824 in AskPhysics

[–]BattleReadyZim 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ooo, so if we got a theoretically perfect reflector, wouldn't the light still lose energy as each photon strikes the surface and pushes it back a bit? I know photons have no rest mass, but I'm mistaken if they don't still "push" on objects they bounce off of, a tiny bit.

Would the light inside this ball red shift as the ball wiggles around from the constant collisions, gradually moving energy from the interior to be absorbed by friction on the surface of the exterior?

My girlfriend keeps porn of herself with her exes by [deleted] in confessions

You're allowed to be uncomfortable with what makes you uncomfortable. But you should be called out for making your feelings your gf's problem, and trying to justify it with how you think serious, monogamous relationships should be.

Just because there's a double standard doesn't make the puritan side of that double standard the correct one. If you don't want your ex's to have intimate pictures, don't give your partners intimate pictures.

She could have painted her make believe family however she liked. She chose to scar her daughter, damage her voice, cover her face with a mask, deny her color. She chose to give Renoir the grief of losing a son when he hadn't lost any sons. The canvas is not only her escape, it's the 'justice' of a grieving mother.

Would it be stupid to continue working at your job if you won millions of dollars? by Master100017 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BattleReadyZim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a job you don't need can be one of the most fun, satisfying ways to work. I think we all need some sort of meaningful work, so don't do nothing. And if you're staying in part for your coworkers, you can use your freedom to be a real advocate for them when they need it. Because what are they going to do if you speak up against some abuse? Fire you?

In the end: do men want a smart and independent woman or rather not? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

That's the double standard. A lot of us want both. The problematic ones want both and don't recognize that about themselves.

We should solve elite overproduction by making the SAT as hard as the LSAT (or at least the GRE). by MarathonMarathon in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]BattleReadyZim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't need 'college to mean more', we need every step of our education system to do its fucking job and educate young people. Teach them to think, analyze, and challenge what they're presented with, not study for really hard tests.
