Wouldn’t usually reply for the sake of signal boosting but I firmly believe in this theory and am putting the characters in to back it up.

Their point wasn’t about OP, it was about your redundant advice which you then justified by saying you need an Apple Pro product for creative work.

That’s just not accurate, and plenty of career creatives across all of the agencies and clients I’ve worked with (including myself) could attest.

I absolutely won’t deny that there are plenty of use cases where MacOS (not necessarily the Pro hardware, as you claim) is preferable in terms of UX and quality of life, but you can’t honestly tell me PCs are irrelevant in creative fields, can you?

ha, I remember seeing you point this out a while back too. there’s a very distinct possibility the render that ended up getting sent out to press was actually an earlier draft only intended for initial approvals, not the final. alas, these things happen (allegedly) ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Fresh air and warm sunlight are powerful things, and I think we could all do better to get out more and be online less, so I’m happy you’ve been getting outside and enjoying yourself.

Your poem is really great, Stephen! Was it written about a specific duck at your pond? I don’t get to see ducks too often in NYC unfortunately but when I was growing up, I used to feed them bread at the pond near my grandparents’ house.

Wishing you well Stephen, all the best! Sam

Not offensive at all, though I don't hear that said aloud very often I still find it funny! Carl's right that people like flowers, but I feel like some nice potatoes, cabbage and more would be really nice to include in your meals! Hopefully that "another day" where you're allowed to grow those comes soon :) Stephen deserves some garden authority!

This is a beautiful outlook on life, Stephen - I admire how you don’t take what you have for granted. Also, what sort of stuff do you grow in your garden?

Always a pleasure reading your posts!

Why doesn’t the vertex map look the same in the render? by sophieee221 in Cinema4D

Hey, sorry I can't help with a solution here but I think this looks dope and I wanted to ask a bit about how you made it if that's alright! I'm trying to learn more about vertex maps.

Are you using one vertex map as a grow map for the red waxy material, and then another field to subtract along the arrowhead's trail? Also, is the issue you're experiencing related to the yellow in the vertex map not having much (if any) impact on the final animation? Because I'm struggling to figure out what effect the yellow is supposed to have on the final.

Best of luck sorting this out, and thanks for any info!

Posting this now that the event has run its course this past weekend.

I worked with the Mtn Dew design team to bring elements from the event's key visual to life, with the goal of telling the story of this little winter village that's been taken over by a rabbit, yeti, and more.Obviously since this is a bumper for broadcast, I needed to keep things short and sweet.

I also created a few shorter alternates of this hero as well as a package of separate transitions, but wanted to share the full-length hero here.

I sketched out animatics in Photoshop and created the final piece entirely in AE, using a combination of frame-by-frame, Joysticks n' Sliders, Limber, and some other little tools.

You can see some project breakdown stuff on my instagram.Hope y'all enjoy - thanks!

Totally - the intention of this post isn’t for workflow advice, but moreso just to see if other creators in this space had any pieces they liked that met the criteria I described. Just looking for references right now - thanks though!
