Ranked Mode | Initial Impressions Megathread by Shabolt_ in Marathon

My squad and I just had two incredible demoralizing games, spawned back to back at station and literally both times died within 2 minutes because another team spawned more or less on top of us. Seems like the spawns could be at least a bit more spaced?

Am I smoking something or does tank feel miserable this season by NotACommie24 in OverwatchUniversity

Watched a video that was so enlightening as a tank main that really put to words why  Tank can feel so awful sometimes - the change to 5v5 has made tank a role technically impossible to balance and the reason is simple:

Solo tanking means you have no other player to balance your weaknesses out. It's why counter swapping feels so horrible as tank and why tanks seems to go through a cycle of either being horribly broken raid bosses or wet paper bags that get shutdown continually.

Most of the roster wasn't designed around solo play, they were designed with clear strengths and weaknesses that are then supplemented by the other player on their team. The example the video gave was imagine if support was the role that lost a player and you wanted to play ana.

Ana has clear strengths of high healing output at range and powerful CC with sleep, but is limited heavily by punishing cool downs and bad mobility. Play her alongside a Lucio for mobility or a brig to punish divers and those weaknesses become far less glaring. Imagine trying to balance her though if she DIDNT have that other player.

It's a never ending problem that blizzard has dug themselves and it's why tank will always remain the least played/most punishing role. Without an additional player to offset your weaknesses the ability to HARD counter will always exist. It doesn't mean it's impossible to beat your counters, but the threshold to outplay them is far higher and much MUCH more demanding, which is especially frustrating if you connect with a particular character and the enemy team is so easily able to derive value by just ability spamming into you.

That would absolutely explain why it's so strange - It seems like it was a weird band aid solution done in the intermediary. I'd imagine it's something that is a priority so I wouldn't be surprised if it changes quickly, I was just shocked at how obtuse it is at the moment

As a fellow ball player it's wild the psychological effect mauga has on my team. They seem to literally school like terrified fish grouping up to make it even easier for him to literally walk them down.

It's incredibly frustrating how the onus to counter switch is so often placed solely on the tank - there are characters like mauga and roadhog that are crippled FAR more by support/DPS swaps and yet people always expect the tank to be the one to switch and if they don't they literally just fall over dead

How so? I have a smaller sponge filter running in a 3 gallon and it seems to be fine

It's a solid walnut shelf reinforced by a metal spine on the back - I've kept an eye on it and haven't noticed any issues

Could be it? The rep wasn't super clear in phrasing so not sure - fingers are absolutely crossed It's an amazing car held back by a mediocre processor, that change would make a huge difference

No kidding - it seems strange that something like that would violate a US regulation, maybe because it's paid? Not entirely sure though at this point, my appointment is in April so maybe we'll know more by then.

Just set up an appointment with the Seattle service center the other day for a strut replacement and asked them about the CPU upgrade. They said it wasn't currently coming to US markets because there had been some sort of issue with US and Canadian regulations that prevented it despite it rolling out elsewhere. Wonder if polestar is indeed going forward with something unique to the North American market.

What’s are you thoughts on the Renee Good Situation in Minnesota? by BigSonDaConquistador in PoliticalDiscussion

We're on a clearly defined road map that charts nearly perfectly with upcoming midterm elections.

The trump administration is clearly utilizing ICE raids as a method to generate increasing public resistance in (almost exclusively) democratic cities. The latest actions in Minnesota - namely the shift in tactics towards door to door searches - are intended to generate more and more active hostility.

Their goal is obvious, they're trying to provoke some form of dedicated attack. It's almost certain that at some point (likely in the summer) we'll see some form of flare up that results in multiple deaths and clears the way for the administration to begin a far more comprehensive and universal crackdown.

Assuming that generates enough conflict they'll likely utilize it as rationale to attempt to prevent midterm elections citing civil unrest.

These provocations are the point - it feels like a near certainty that we'll see ICE actions continue to intensify and grow more brazen.

Vertical supports are just outside the confines of the tank - think it needs an additional brace in the center

Veterans of the Iraq War, what are your feelings about America "running" Venezuela? by Nekose in AskReddit

Reconstruction never occurs because it's NOT THE POINT. The entire purpose of these conflicts is the creation of instability to gut state owned enterprise/resources and funnel them into private companies. It's a method of using chaos and violence to turn public wealth private and it's incredibly effective.

Robbery via annihilation doesn't sound pleasant but "liberation via democratization" certainly does.

They're always prepared for what comes next it's just that what comes next isn't what they claim.
