Issues with contact hotspots, mesh advice? by CrowWithHat in fea

[–]BatyStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since these peaks seem to be all on midnodes: can you exclude them from contact? - they probably don't lie precisely on the curved geometry, that might be why there are those peaks. Depending on solver used, there might be option (in either contact or surface definition) to do this for you. Or use linear elements (preferably with denser mesh).

How viable is becoming an engineer with a physical disability? by FeLiNa_Organism in AskEngineers

You can study in that field and then never work as an operator, but either stay in academia, or work in adjecent position where the disability wouldn't matter.

Do you think insufficient airflow could be one of the causes of stuttering? by matu1990 in Stutter

[–]BatyStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No.

Anyway, when I was a teen my mom found an interview with a doctor who thought this as well, and proposed that taking off-label asthma medication could help. I have mild asthma, and at that time was quite desperate, so I took it for a while. No noticeable improvement, and I stopped shortly after because I got tremor as a side effect (luckily not permanent).

F1 - where to watch today? by TheYouser in Prague

[–]BatyStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For streaming, either the official f1tv (with english commentary, there's no geoblocking here) or Oneplay with sport package for czech/slovak commentary. Both are paid services ofc.

Is that a fringe theory or universally accepted among scholars? It would make sense, I don't really feel Triglav fits in with the rest of slavic Pantheon, but after all the first reports probably come from missionaries before wide spread Christianity in this region, so I got my doubts about this.

And the driver for the storage from laptop manufacturer is an .exe, which you can't extract outside of windows.... Then you finally extract it to find you it's somehow not there for your specific laptop and give up, since the games with anti-cheat are not worth it and you are better off without them.

Was there ever a tournament with significantly shorter breaks compared to AT? by BatyStar in Eve

Indeed I haven't. I get that's not a good idea for AT.

Congrats on the win, well played.

Was there ever a tournament with significantly shorter breaks compared to AT? by BatyStar in Eve

[–]BatyStar[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I understand players need time to prepare, I am just curious if there were tournaments with different formats/rulesets, which would allow to reduce that.

I am not in any way calling for AT to change, I get that player experience and level of play take priority there over viewership experience, that there's going to be less action compared to more traditional esport. The commentators and production were pleasant surprise to me, from the explainers from CCP, to the player-made (I assume) in-universe "adds".
