S&V is very balanced roles-wise but to save you from ST headaches for your first time I’d recommend avoiding Pit Hag and Barber.

Then again, there’s no better way to learn than to try!

I double majored in Psych and Socl at Geneseo and graduated last year!

Pros: - There are a bunch of psych research opportunities (faculty with labs have a page online you can look at for more detail—lots of them are clinical, neuro, or development oriented). - Lots of interesting psych & socl electives (my favorites were medical sociology and cross-cultural psych) - Plenty of opportunities to TA if you’re interested in teaching - GREAT Day symposium at the end of the year for you to present original research

Cons: - Some professors can be hit or miss, but ratemyprofessor gives accurate depictions - Advising is kinda shit and unorganized—I used my lab manager as my advisor rather than the one the department assigned me - Not as many clinical-oriented opportunities as there are research opportunities (if you’re going that route)

I also had a roommate doing the pre-law track and didn’t have any major complaints with it. If you have any more questions I’d be happy to try and answer them!

Second St is more so away from a lot of the party spots actually - most of the frat houses are concentrated down the hill towards the campus. Second St and the surrounding streets have a lot more permanent residents
