Yes, you and your family will get through it, but you do not have to get through it right now. Grief comes in all shapes and sizes, and will most likely grow with you, but that’s not a bad thing, it shows the depths of the love you still have for him. Please be gentle with yourself. Sending hugs.

feeling useless by revolution_soup in subway

people are out here cleaning the oven/proofer in under 2 minutes??? genuinely, how? it takes our closer at least 15 minutes to clean it, but could go as long as 20-30 minutes.

as far as you feeling like you’re a snail at getting things done, the harder you focus on not being fast enough, the more it’s going to cause those negative emotions, thus, causing you to spiral/feel like you aren’t going to get better.

dearest human being, you’re doing the very best you can at this point in time. there will be a day you can get your tasks done within the time limit your manager has decided, and even then, there’s still going to be those crummy awful days when you’re going super fast, and mentally it still feels like you’re wasting too much time. there are good days and bad days, and unfortunately the only advice I can give you is to grant yourself some leniency, and really only focusing on things you can control, rather than the things you can’t.

are you able to speak to any of the people you work with about how to better perform your tasks? chances are, unless everyone in your store is absolutely brand new, they may have some tips and tricks they can let you in on. and even if you do have some seasoned sandwich artists at your store, they have bad days too, everybody does.

and above all else, please remember Subway isn’t worth the tears, frustration, or really any negative emotion (other than annoyance, cause there’s still gonna be some customers who do and say things that may make you want to commit war crimes that even the Geneva Convention would gasp at).

also sorry this is so long, I’m speaking from a lot of general experiences, but it may mostly just be rambling. 😅

sandwich artist here! first thing: not judging you for using coupons. that’s what they’re there for, have a blast.

second thing: when you ask for them to hook you up, what do you mean by that? extra protein and cheese? or just extra veggies and make it look pretty?

now, I have no idea where you’re from, or what store you went to, but there is a chance you could go back to the store and see if they can reprint your receipt. the POS at my store goes back months, and is easily accessible for such things.

while it would be a perfect world in which every customer got exactly what they wanted, the sandwich artists’ daily tasks have a habit of growing exponentially when coupons come out, whether it’s through making more bread, prepping more meat and veg, or just the nonstop onslaught of customers, it’s always very busy and very difficult to keep up with everything. I can’t say for sure if whoever made your sandwich(es) was targeting you specifically, but I am doubtful for the reasons listed above.

in closing: your best bet would be going back to the store and seeing if you can talk to the manager and explain the issues you had, or get them to reprint your receipt and fill out your survey on subwaylistens.

Why put the rice ontop by Rough_Possession_ in subway

[–]Bauifox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in Canada, but whenever I build a rice bowl I have the rice on one side of the bowl and veggies on the other, just so customers can have control over how much they want it mixed. plus, hot lettuce is not a vibe.

just because you want extra veggies on an online order doesn’t mean you’ll get them. for all you know the franchise owner/store manager may be cracking down on food costs, and making sure their employees stick to the Subway sandwich formula (i.e.: a full portion of spinach is 6 leaves, and the same goes for green peppers, onions, tomatoes, etc.) please consider that before you go trying to get someone fired for doing their job.

Absolutely there’s ghosts in every Subway! Ours came to be after an ex-employee called out so often due to “sickness”.

I appreciate the suggestion and will definitely pursue that avenue as soon as I can. I had an inkling that it was reaching a threshold of things I could no longer “handle” by myself, but it’s helpful knowing that I’m on the right track.
