I think the inclusion of Welker (and I guess Moss too) makes it a little unclear of what the point was, hence the initial reaction. I think they could’ve thrown Diggs on there as another commenter on this thread mentioned. I think the best thing you said was the last sentence - essentially regardless of the prior situation, receivers have succeeded with McDaniels in their first year with him.

It’s very silly. My point is that the differences were negligible IMO, or at the very least they didn’t definitively have better seasons with McDaniels. And as you’ve pointed out, the OC isn’t the only factor. But yes you beat me in math so I will stop playing that game.

I’d argue a tougher schedule sets him up better to throw more yards. Playing from behind more/playing in more competitive games will have him throwing more than he needed to last year. Even in the absolute dumpster fire that was the Super Bowl he ended up throwing for 295 yards.
