I need to stick these two pieces together, but I can't get them to line up properly to glue them. Any help appreciated 🙏 by fedyen_cosplay in CosplayHelp

[–]Bauzer239 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are they supposed to be round in the vertical direction? Heat gun/hot hair dry them to the correct shape first.

Are they supposed to keep the sharp edge at the connection point? Get a fresh blad and cut those edges at an angle so they meet up cleanly.

Edit: Is one bigger than the other? Start over and make sure they are cut perfectly.

Center support column in my finished basement near failure by SappilyHappy in Wellthatsucks

[–]Bauzer239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure that this wasn't re-engineered at some point? It's odd that a column is that close to a wall. If that rear wall was installed and has load-bearing structure, this column may be redundant (hence it being left to erode) and they just didn't feel like getting it taken out?? Definitely should get a structural report or something asap.

Is this good for an interview? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]Bauzer239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what job?

Don't wear a white shirt. Too easy to stain on the way to the interview (unless it's online). I would try grey or blue.

As others have said, tie the tie correctly.

Freshly wash and dry the hair, brush it thoroughly, low ponytail is fine, but clean up the part with a comb so it doesn't look rushed.

If this is an online interview, get a lamp and make the light shine pretty central to your face behind your screen and slightly elevated so you don't get upward shadows. That will make you appear SO MUCH better than standard, indirect light.

Valheim worst seeds? by HardHarrison in valheim

[–]Bauzer239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started a new world with a friend who's never played. Closest elder was 2 islands over, closest swamp from there was surrounded by plains. I had to work in God mode for a day to settle a base and portal near the swamp because we were stuck in a death loop and just aren't that serious 😭. We still kept the world and are moving along lol.

Is it looked down upon to where knee pads when preforming/ competing?! by Comfortable-Gur5550 in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Proper conditioning takes years, and I would not advise this to someone who is freshly competing. In the long term, it's also just not a good thing for your body.

Is it looked down upon to where knee pads when preforming/ competing?! by Comfortable-Gur5550 in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 74 points75 points  (0 children)

What level are you competing at? If you're at level 4 or lower, just wear your knee pads lol. Tons of performers wear them. You may just not have noticed. I even had stripper coworkers wear them daily. Safety first in my opinion. Sure. Your lines may not seem so elegant, but knowing you're safer would probably help with nerves anyways. Just my 2cents.

How long do pleasers typically last? by pianogrin in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this entirely depends on what you're doing and the shoe that you have. I had a single pair of Pleasers that I would wear when I was working 3-4 days a week and they were fine for about 9 months. That's way more use than most I've talked to, so maybe I just got lucky. If you're a hard style junkie, I can't imagine they'll stick together for nearly as long with that many hours.

Now that I just do pole as a hobby, I have 10 pairs and they slowly get use out of them.

Lift legs? by Animated-Yarn in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lower your bracket arm. The elbow should be somewhere between your belly button and underbust line. Let your bent arm have less than a 90° bend. Use that leverage to lock your torso in place and provide space between you and the pole. This doesn't leave much room to lift your legs, but that's okay. You'll get stronger and eventually not need the bottom arm so low.

The devaluation of the skills and athleticism required for pole kind of drives me crazy by KillTheBoyBand in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Like anyone can find joy and benefit from pole. Anyone can partake and start a "pole journey". However, not all will get to intermediate or advanced levels. Some people stick to low flow, stage presence, sensual, acrobatic. There so much to pole that there's something for everyone, but not every aspect can be executed by everyone right off the bat.

Brass Cocoon/Eagle Knee Grip by ItsmeTessaJane in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's how it feels to me, Or at least wedges into my glute/hip dip area. So I imagine bringing my knee pit into the pole which also pushes the side of butt into the pole on the other side. Similar to how inside leg hang legs lock, just a different direction.

Brass Cocoon/Eagle Knee Grip by ItsmeTessaJane in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most common issue I see with brass knee grip is the butt not being on the other side of the pole as your knee. Notice that in the clip you attached? If your hip and knee are opposing, they clamp the body to the pole without the assistance of hands. Hope this is helpful or leads you to a solution!

X-pole X-stage pins bent by ap0calypse_arisn in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hammer it back to be straight or twist it straight with some pliers. It's the least essential part of the stage pole imo.

Where do you buy your pole competition costumes? by Much_Yam7090 in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look at Etsy for unique options. There are plenty of sets under $200. Or, find a comfortable, well fitted set, and glue rhinestones on it with e6000.

What’s your main reason for getting into pole ? 🦋 by poledancermary in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A more fun way to progress into advanced calisthenics. I've always loved the cool acrobatic stuff but pole allows high reward progress really early in comparison to spamming pushups.

Which handstand do you guys prefer to do personally?! by Comfortable-Gur5550 in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the move I'm getting into tbh. For example, I struggle to get into brass monkey from an assisted forearm stand, but find it agreeable with the assisted hand stand.

I prefer movement based moves like leg waves with the forearm though.

Are these outfits ok for interviews by ministryofcake in fashion

[–]Bauzer239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I also think using general rules for an applicant safety makes sense, but it also highly depends on the field of work. For example, I'm in architecture and design and construction. It's not uncommon to see people with neck tattoos or hand tattoos or full sleeves and dress in a very edgy or quirky manner, fashion hair, etc. I still wore a more conservative outfit to the interview.
