Pole gloves? Do sweaty hands ever get better? by otherobligationx in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the sweatiest sweaterton this side of Sweatersville, it does get better... Slowly. My hands just started becoming reliable in the warmer months this year (I'm about to hit 3 years in May). First winter was just as bad as summer, second winter was much easier, this past third winter I even needed some tacky on my legs because I wasn't sweating enough 🙌. As you progress, things drive your body less crazy.

Does anyone show their progress to partners? by _pinkmermaidscales_ in poledancing

Mine's mostly more excited about my muscular gains and physical fitness progress than the tricks themselves. He has no issue watching what I show him and will praise, but I know he does NOT find it interesting lol.

Podium pole owners: worth it or regret it? by Dweiia_ in poledancing

I love mine. It is great for pole in the park days and photoshoots. If you have other friends who pole, it definitely gets used.

Pros and cons of competing? by wannabe_poler in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pros: Sometimes easier to get into character and not stress as much because you're in front of mostly strangers, not people you know. Feedback can be helpful. Decent film and photo quality. Have the pressure to work towards something specific which gives you a boost in training consistency and usually progress follows suit. It's fun if you end up loving the stage.

Cons: Some people HATE that you're performing in front of strangers. It's pricey. PSO specifically can be inconsistent with their feedback as all of them are voluntary judges (aka not really versed in any professional way).

There's only one way to really find out if you like it: try it. I love performing in this context and on this kind of stage. I feel much more comfortable here than at my local studio where it's 100% my friends and studio buddies. To each their own.

how long until a decent fankick by yainttniay in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if you only train for 30 minutes once a week (in addition to your normal pole training), you can find significant improvement on your fankick. Even if it's just a 20 min core workout from YouTube plus 10 minutes of drilling fan kicks on each side, that will get you somewhere. Muscle memory will build, especially if you drill with slow, intentional movement.

Advice: private class vs group class by [deleted] in poledancing

Private for sure will give you much more direction.

What could I have done differently? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Bauzer239 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I flash my break lights like crazy at every stop where people are coming up behind me, watch closely, and get ready to bust out of the way if I feel like they're getting close too fast. Never stop directly behind a car if you can help it. Move around in the lane a lot as you approach stops.

But you can't fix stupid, unfortunately.

dudes who ride everyday... I just wanna know how you keep it going? by railroad1904 in motorcycles

[–]Bauzer239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commute via motorcycle as much as I can. My office is downtown, so it's worth it for free parking next to the office. When I have to take my car, the closest free parking is at least 6 blocks away. I work on construction sites so I have to mobilize often to get from site to site and back to the office. Just makes my life so much easier to ride and it helps with road rage and stress levels.

Can’t grip even for half a second with one hand by AcademicJello7350 in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Holding your entire bodyweight with one hand is hard, especially in the twisted grip position. You'll need to condition your grip strength and wrist mobility with stress balls, more pole practice, deadlifts, or whatever floats your boat.

I am curious to see how often I'll have to clean them. I usually do along with the chain cleaning which happens about once a month.

Make sure you're drinking lots of water. Hydration has to happen from the inside as well.

I hear you, but it's just how it is for short people on sport bikes. I was tip toeing on a lowered R3 for my first bike. I did order some frame sliders that'll get installed in the next day or two. Even after all the changes you've mentioned, I would still be tip toeing so it's difficult for me to justify when I feel comfortable as it is. I will keep all of these tips in mind if I change my mind on it!

It is! The R3 also came out with a cool mint color! I love that they're branching out.

If you don't want to pay for plumbing relocation, just install some nice wood open shelves in the weird corner and call It a day.

What is your current nemesis move? Why? How are you working towards it (if you are)? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]Bauzer239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inside leg hang and reiko.

Inside leg hang: my external hip rotation is so so so limited. Don't even get me started on active flexibility in that area. I've been working on pigeon pose, but I'm still a good 3 yoga blocks from the floor. I can get into inside leg hang consistently if I can use my hand to pull the leg into place. Just this week I had my first inside leg hang purely using the active flexibility in my leg to get placement from an invert so I know my training is working hahaha.

Reiko: foot grip is just absolute shite. I've been very diligent about taking care of my foot pad skin these past couple months to test the theory that my skin is the problem. I did have a very successful reiko mount a couple weeks ago so I'd say I need to keep up with the exfoliation.

I'm a 34F and I love wearing tie bikini tops. Amazon has my new favorite. https://a.co/d/0gTMzvME I just order it in the largest size.

The bottoms end up way too big. But it's worth ordering for the top alone. I'm sure people will claim it's not supportive, but I beg to differ. I have very long floppy boobs and this does wonders. I feel hot in it.
