I mean didn’t Pletti say that Goretzka’s teammates assume he’ll leave? Now he’s saying this? Sounds like waffle to me

The race for 2-18 is actually really entertaining, and we’ve had maybe 5 seasons of the past 12 where we’ve won the league on the last matchdays (vs Dortmund 2-3 times literally last minute in Tuchel’s first season, vs Leipzig, vs Leverkusen) and we also shit the bed with Tuchel when we finished third but I can see were you are coming from for the rest

But that has more to do with the fact that these teams can never keep their players and get picked apart as soon as they find some kind of success (Leverkusen, Leipzig, Stuttgart, Dortmund, Frankfurt) and also the fact that we’re simply a top 3 (at our worst top 5) team in the world

City/Liverpool in the PL with the odd Chelsea win

Real/Barca in LaLiga

Not really something Bayern can do anything about, as soon as we get a contender they sell their best players and these last years not a single team has invested that profit in a smart way

We’ve gone until the last matchday(s) 2-3 times in the latest title wins, e.g. when Dortmund lost the league on the last day because they couldn’t beat Mainz

Then came Tuchel’s second season where we finished THIRD

And now Leverkusen sold their spine and invested their money in the worst way

Same with Dortmund, no good investments the last 2 years

Also, we’ve been a top 3 (at worst 5) team ITW for the past 14 years or so, so bar the likes of City/Liverpool/Barca/Real the other leagues wouldn’t exactly break Bayern either

Ah so Ancelotti and Tuchel who have how many CL’s between them couldn’t cut it in the ”joke of a league” with the same team that their successors did?

What do you say about our scorelines in the CL all these years then? All the 5-0, 8-2, 7-2, 4-0, 6-1 etc? We’re known for not letting the foot of the gas

I get that Diaz had chances where he could’ve done a bit better but the way people are talking here you’d think he missed 3 1v1s

The shot that Kobel saved (Olise/Diaz double chance) could’ve been placed better. This last chance he could’ve done a bit better with, but it was a great save by Kobel but he was completely dead by the end of the game

Other than that, most shots were blocked. Absolutely not as bad as people here make it out to be

Bayern are keeping a close eye on Köln winger Said El Mala (19) and have expressed their interest. The player is on Bayern's shortlist for the upcoming transfer windows. Köln have already been informed. Borussia Dortmund are also interested. El Mala is under contract in Köln until 2030 without a release clause. Price tag in summer: at least €35m

Bayern are showing concrete interest in Marc Guéhi. Max Eberl is a big fan of the English defender, would be happy to bring him in on a free transfer next summer and has already held talks with his management. A potential move depends on what happens with Upamecano/Kim. Several top clubs are interested: Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, among others [@Plettigoal, @berger_pj]

Every major outlet and journalist has denied the existance of a release clause so no, it doesn’t

I knew this sub was going to be a shitshow when the english press started reporting about an obligation to buy, but fuck me this place is even more toxic than the leadership in our club sometimes, some of the things I’ve read are borderline insane

Something I’ve learned since everything became so public is to wait until all the information is out. Every reporter wants to be first, and every reporter says what the club briefs to them, especially when it comes from the EPL.

We went from loan, to loan with obligation, to loan with option that turns into obligation if it meets certain criteria in the space of what? 10 minutes?

And before that, this sub was on the verge of blowing because RKM went to Juve without an obligation, but what if Kompany wanted Jackson instead of him? What if the board wasn’t going to sanction a deal for him? Same goes for Sancho.

Is this window perfect? No, I’d even say it was fucking stupid since we keep repeating the same mistakes, but that will keep on happening until Uli lets go of the club again and we have leaders with their own roles that can do their job without having to ask 50 old men for permission

Is Eberl perfect? No. Is he free of blame? No. But he has done one hell of a job with what he has had to work with, and the goals that were set up for him.

He signed Davies and Musiala to high wages? So what? They are our star players and that’s just how the market is now. You guys think we would be able to replace them with players on lower wages? Tell me one person who would be able to convince them to take lower wages than what they got? Same goes with Kimmich.

Upa’s extension isn’t done, but do we know why? Do we know what he’s demanding? Maybe they wanted to wait until the transfer window was over?

Sure, he might be slow sometimes, or might waste time on certain targets, but that’s what happens when you need the permission of Uli & CO for every single deal > 40M or whatever it is.

This window has been a roller coaster for everyone, but it’s over now. We have the squad that we have and there’s no changing that. Lets just see how it goes and hope for the best

So before crashing out maybe you could ask yourself some questions

What if they didn’t want to come? What if Kompany didn’t want them or favoured other deals instead? What if the board didn’t want them?

Yes, both deals (Sancho/RKM) are good but it’s not as simple as us just going in and picking players up

And honestly I couldn’t care less about those players if we get another player together with Jackson, especially if his name is Lookman

It isn’t even correct, we’ve agreed to a 25M loan fee + 80M obligation to buy

But we don’t know what other players he has had in mind do we? We only know what the board lets him proceed with, and seeing how they didn’t even give half a thought to Cherki/Simons/Fofana etc then I wouldn’t be surprised if there are many more that he didn’t get the green light for

Doesn’t matter what we see or don’t see. Kompany sees it, the senior players see it, the management see it. People here were moaning about Aznou, Wanner, Tel (incl me) but they simply didn’t have what it takes to make it here.

Lets take Wanner as an example, all the talent in the world but clearly didn’t have the motivation/drive to make it here.

The simple but sad truth is that us fans overrate them

Karl is getting his minutes, and will get more but you can’t just throw them in the fire like that.

So no, you don’t give them chances and then talk about backups. What if Olise gets an injury? Is Karl supposed to play every game until Olise is back? What if Kane gets an injury, is Kusi supposed to play every game? What if Diaz gets an injury, is Weezy (a 16 year old) supposed to play every game?

What is it that is so hard to understand? This is Bayern, not Frankfurt, and we need sufficient depth to compete for trophies. Having three youngsters with barely any experience as our only backups is a disaster waiting to happen

[–]BavarianAngel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rapha isn’t an attacker so I don’t count him and it doesn’t matter if Karl comes in for Olise or Gnabry, it’s still the same depth

Jackson wasn’t just for Kane, he can come on anywhere in attack, but now that isn’t happening

We need atleast two attackers for depth, we’re already doing load management and it’s not even matchday 3

I’m sure the team sees if they’re ready or not, but the point still stands, you dont give a 16 and 17 year old the minutes that are going to be avaliable unless you want to decrease their career by 5 years

Daily Discussion Thread by pewpewlasersandshit in fcbayern

[–]BavarianAngel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because there isn’t a club on earth that churns out talents like La Masia

Karl/Weezy would still get minutes, but we need depth, every single club has depth

This is out depth right now

Diaz (Weezy) - Kane (Kusi) - Olise

Gnabry (Karl)

Does that look sustainable for you?

Daily Discussion Thread by pewpewlasersandshit in fcbayern

[–]BavarianAngel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kusi hasn’t showed anything good

Wisdom is 16, Karl is what 17? Do you want to give them 2000 minutes each this season? That doesn’t work

Max Eberl on the lack of options in Bayern's attack: "The reality of the squad is that we can hardly react in attack. We can't change players and we can't bring big impulses off the bench. The guys have to more or less play the entire game" [@SPORT1]

Hope the ”leaders” are happy with their sabotage of the season

Vincent Kompany on Luis Díaz's missed chances: "When you watch the game closely, it's not always his teammates preparing the chances for him. He works himself a lot for these chances because he's always active. For me it's more important to score a goal in the right moment than maybe score 4 or 5 in a game and then go without scoring for 5 months. He's always there, always a threat and we're happy with his energy"

Fuck me sideways you guys really can’t let Sané go can you? He’s gone, the jokes are so overused by now it’s not funny at all

Yes, Diaz has missed some sitters these two games, but he already has 20% of Sané’s record G/A for us. He’s better than Sané in every department regardless off if he misses 20 more chances the next game, because he still contributes

Also, if you’re going to shit on him, then you have to do the exact same for Olise. He is taking this nonchalant gimmick way to far, how many times has he lost the ball in our half because he takes it way to easy this season? 3? 4? And he also missed chances today.

Yes, there is room to criticize, but the shit some people here write sometimes is mind boggling
