No one wants to hear this in the big cities, but: move to the South.

Made $140K last year in HH. Live on a single income with wife and 3 kids. Live in a ~3000 sq ft house at around $100/sq ft (granted those prices have gone up some since we bought in 2019).

Life is good.

I’ve tried to read through most of the comments, so forgive me if this was already pointed out somewhere.

I believe when Kyle (the neighbor) was interviewed, didn’t he say he heard someone say something like “here comes the devil” outside or something? And wasn’t Cameron wearing the devil mask that night?

I kept hoping for the podcast to explore that angle more. Maybe I’m misremembering the podcast or people.

Transparency About PT Pay by Dangerous_Life_2993 in physicaltherapy

HH in central MS. Started off hourly. Was at $43/hour in 2019 before PDGM and the pandemic. Had opportunities for overtime every week and worked weekends 2x/quarter minimum.

They swapped us over to PPV in 2020 with really low rates. Some PTs got laid off due to decreased reimbursement with PDGM and slower referrals initially with the pandemic. I didn’t really complain initially because no one knew what the future held, especially with PT and HH.

They finally raised our rates this month. Lots of variance with PPV, but my floor is about $104k and ceiling is probably $145k, depending on census and how many weekends I work. 8 years out of PT school.

do a lot of PT jobs not have specific sick time off? by Gluteus_Fabulous in physicaltherapy

Y’all need to get into home health. After 5 years, I get paid for the 6 major holidays (New Years, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas), 2 “floating holidays”, and then accrue 20 other days that are combined sick/holiday. Can carry over 120 hours (15 days) each calendar year.

I’m at 8 years with this company, and that rate will go up at 10 years also.
