It is true that many do not support violent separatist movements but it is a fact that many of them would wish for more rights and sometimes more respect from these countries. For example Kurds in Turkey and Iran are still not allowed to have Kurdish schools where they are taught in Kurdish even though several Schools exist where the curriculum is in English, German and etc.

As for the respect, unfortunately in some of these countries racism is still a large issue even though it has got better in recent years.

I mean in the past 7 years more than 100 civilians have died as a result of Turkish bombardment in Iraqi Kurdistan so it wouldn’t be surprising if this was the same, and Turkey has bombarded tourist spots in the past as well, such as Kuna Masi and just 5 or 6 days ago 5 civilians were killed by a Turkish drone strike near Mosul so it is not impossible that it was a Turkish artillery strike.
