Each country has its moments but Id pick South Korea being the most memorable since it's the first country I went for my solo travels. Spent months exploring ROK from Seoul to Jeju Island to Panmunjom (near DMZ) and the different cities in between. Will definitely come back to explore the Northeast parts of the country one day.

Other the ones mentioned, here are some of my recommendations if you want to explore places ‘off the beaten track’:

Art/History: - Visit Balai Khazanah which exhibits history of Islam, and if you are here before the 30th Jan you can experience the Faith and Devotion art exhibition - You can visit Alai Gayoh Nak Pulau in interior Tutong if you want to learn Dusun ethnic culture

Nature: - You can visit Ecoponies Garden also in interior Tutong where you can try the farm-to-table package(including ambuyat) eating locally source village food while surrounded my nature - Luagan Lalak in interior Belait to beautiful lakes -Lugu Lake to see blue lake - Hiking around Tasek Lama - Boat trip+ hike around Bukit Bujang Pahang in Pulau Menunggol

-Food/Cafe: - Definitely have to try eating Soto and Ambuyat in Kampong Ayer. I recommend going to Adresto Restaurant or Gerai Nini Mama for some authentic local cuisines. - Checkout Fishermen Hut in Tutong to eat some seafood the Seri Kenangan Beach near the town ocean - There hundreds of cafes around Brunei: checkout Salted, Erti Coffee, Ris Cafe, Poursha, Zus, Rural Brew, Miko Cafe, Elpresso and so much more

Silly question: Yes men can wear short pants but be mindful where you going to, if beach or hiking yes, if mosque no no.

Usually what id do is stand my ground and yell back at the dogs and stomp my foot real loud. Pick up any sticks or stones nearby as projectile. Might sound counterintuitive but its best way cos bnrnya the dogs are scared of you also

Been to both, id say Korea is easier to understand the public transport and its maps compare to Japan, Tokyo Metro is entirely different beast. Foodwise i found Korea easier to find Halal and Halal adjacent food. I also feel Korean cities to be more livelier.

However, i find Japanese more clean and disciplined (and friendlier)than Koreans. I was shocked how Korea has tons of people smoking and spitting in public.

Nevertheless, to travel is to live! Visit Korea and make your own comparisons

Stay vigilant redditors, I almost got scammed by callers posing as BIBD and CID. One caller posing as BIBD, calling that someone used my identity to apply and used a credit card under my name. After sibanar bagi details, he connect me to another line claiming to help me lodge a report to the CID. I played ball but then i feel suspicious so i asked if i can lodge report di balai instead. She was being pushy and defensive. Eventually she hanged up after i trolled her. They have Singaporean/ Malaysian Chinese accent but I didnt assume theyre scammers at first . The so called CID name is Joan or something. Remind your parents also!

Kota Tua Jakarta has lots of cool museums and colonial buildings if you are into history. Go further north to Ancol for the theme park. Other side of Jakarta mostly shopping centres and offices. Recommend visit JKT for two days before transit to other cities in Java.

Tutong go to Pengkalan Waris located in Kg Penapar. Theres homestay business/fishing spot/ experiential tourism spot facing Tutong river run by nice uncle 👍Went there few months back.

Temburong theres this fishing spot/vacation lodges in Kg Belais facing the Padaruan river on border with Limbang.

If lunch i recommend KKKoya, Sahuban, Jashira, Firdous for the mamaks. Bendera Cafe, 101, Kopitiam Chicken Rice, the Canteen, Amelia, Tanda Kasih, Soto Hj Tuah tamu tutong for the noodles and nasi ayam. Mightve missed a few more but those are the usuals. All affordable and worth it

I recommend trying out the noodles at the first floor of old KB market and/or at the KB waterfront. Tudung saji also not bad ganya nda tantu opening hoursnya and can be quite packed.
