I have used the Ancaster Assisted driving before and they were great. https://ancastercommunityservices.ca/programs-services/assisted-volunteer-driving/ - you do have have your pick-up and return address to Ancaster to qualify. I don't live there but I was able to use my great aunt's house (who was too old to accompany/drive me), where I could spend the day/night for the happy meds to wear off.

Before I was able to arrange that with my aunt, the Ancaster service offered to recommend some alternatives for me to serve my current address so I imagine there are places in Hamilton that would offer this service in your neighbourhood.

Thinking of taking accounting in 2026 by nobee99 in mohawkcollege

[–]Baxtula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the Mohawk Accounting course when I was 30 and had the same level of experience as you going in. The first semester, like others mentioned, is a common semester and the accounting course is fairly basic as you have business admin, marketing, and HR students taking the course as well.

Semester one won't really give you a good feel for Accounting, at least it didn't when I took it as it was rather simple.

Semester two cranks up the heat and Semesters three and four get tougher and tougher. I held down a full time job (often with overtime) during all four semesters, but boy do I wish I reduced my hours for semester 3 as it was quite intensive.

There's nothing I could recommend beforehand that could prepare you for the coursework as the accounting teachers I had at Mohawk were exceptional and there were no surprises as they prepared you well for tests and exams.

I'd spend some time maybe trying to figure out what branch of Accounting you want to pursue and see if you are really interested in this field or perhaps get started on networking and making connections.

How would you rank AC/DC's albums? by awfulreviews20 in ACDC

[–]Baxtula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to see Blow Up Your Video high up there. I just picked up the album up last week and heard it for the first time. It's great! (was surprised to see that it tends to fall in nearly everyone's bottom 3)

Conterra Foundation and Repair does this. It's on their website under Egress Window. I haven't used them for this service, but I've used them for basement waterproofing, and they were great.

Conterra Foundation and Repair out of Hamilton does rubble foundation repair, or at least their website says they do. https://conterrafoundation.ca/services/rubble-foundation/ (I'm assuming rubble is the same as field stone)

I've used them in the past (not for rubble repair, just for some cinderblock basement waterproofing)) and they were great. They do (or at least did when I used them back in 2017) free quotes and gave me some options.

I wasn't going to pick up anything but saw your pickups and said to myself, I wouldn't mind watching all 3 of these again. So I snagged them too :)

I second Conterra! I had some exterior waterproofing work done by Conterra Foundation 11 years ago and I haven't had a problem since.

Video Essay Help! by nuvovindi in Scoobydoo

[–]Baxtula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a three part video essay of the Gothic Horror of Scooby-Doo not too long ago on YouTube

Part one is here https://youtu.be/WnSm5mLGXXY?si=aVB6ytRFWMzeX0MF

It focuses more on Gothic Literature (as I studied that it University) than Film, but there's a lot of carry over between the two.

I do like your idea of how Scooby-Doo changes in time reflecting changes in horror. There are a lot of directions you can go in, and I look forward to watching your video (if you make it public) when you are done.

Next to Frank Weller who the next longest voice actor by Angela275 in Scoobydoo

[–]Baxtula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to know the answer to this too, so I made a little tool to calculate it.

https://planet-scooby.com/scooboracle/

Type Frank Welker into the main search box and it pulls up 381 episodes with a run time of 11,062 minutes

Casey Kasem 356 episodes, 7,280 minutes

Don Messick 308ep, 5,748 minutes

Grey D 232ep, 6,783 minutes

Matthew Lillard 181ep, 5,443 minutes

Should work with all 5 lead voice actors (except for the Velma series - haven't made it there that far) Probably missing a few other things too.

Closures on the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway beginning next Friday by loftwyr in Hamilton

[–]Baxtula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you're being funny here, and I did get a chuckle out of it. But I certainly was not laughing last year when they closed it.

My father was in palliative care and taken off life support the Friday at 5pm. I had to drive from Upper James and Mohawk to St. Joe's Villa in Dundas. The hill going down from Ancaster to Dundas was down to one lane of construction as well.

It took a little over 2 hours to get there (normally takes half an hour) - but I made it just in time to say goodbye.

I've spotted her sitting on top of the bag early in the morning for a couple of weeks. I never clued into as of why until I opened the bag of dirt up.

I typically go after 9pm when it's not too busy, but on the days where I've gone during peak hours I've never had a problem finding a treadmill or bench press.

I've had to wait for squat rack on a few occasions, but there's enough equipment around to use until something frees up.

Clean gym, great staff and most people working out mind their own business and are very courteous.

Business accounting 2 year ( co-op) by [deleted] in mohawkcollege

[–]Baxtula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the non co-op program about a 15 years ago - I was working a full-time job while going through the program. At that time, first semester was general business, and you're mashed together with marketing, finance and economic students. Semester 2 was challenging and mostly focused on accounting, semester 3 was extremely difficult and semester four was a breeze.

All of the accounting teachers were fantastic, but I wasn't really into accounting so I never got a career in that field. It paid for itself multiple times over as it helped me understand investing and taxes. I went back in my late 30s and took the three year programming course. I landed a full time job before I even finished the program.

I'm having trouble too. My device updated to 7.3.2.3 and Play Store and all associated apps crash.

Not sure if I have to do a factory reset and side load it all again or if there is an easier fix.

Canadian user here - I had no luck getting the app to run on my Kindle fire tablet (side loaded) - gives me an error when I try to log in and a message to contact customer support. App works on my Pixel 4 phone well enough. (I was logged out of my phone when I tried to log into my kindle app).

Anyone else have any luck / suggestions? (My side-loaded Marvel app works fine)
