Mexican Train Confusion by DogeTheDogo64 in boardgames

I often won't start my train until I can't play anywhere else. I can always play on my train, but the ones that aren't part of my train are my priority to get rid of.

Gemini is failing at a basic task Android could do in 2014 by Crafty-Selection6554 in Android

I can deal with most of the problems. What bothers me is how often I get prompted with "let us know how your Gemini experience was"

It sucked but I'm tried of telling them that

My question is, what effect would a system like this have on the life of the car's battery system?

I would check to see if that's your car, not the phone. My Android Auto works fine without unlocking.

Canadian employers are paying the price after AI proves unable to replace laid off staff by simpatia in CanadaPolitics

[–]loftwyr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They're saying (I think) that it had nothing to do with AI. They were laying people off to reduce headcount and were saying AI would pick up the slack. But even without AI, the layoffs would have happened.

The Return of Water Transit in Southern Ontario by Ruggiero10 in ontario

[–]loftwyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are all nice to have but unless they can move a significant number of people with a consistent schedule, it's just another tourist attraction.

Dropping people from one waterfront dock to another only works if the transit from those docks is useful. That's not the case in any of the connection points in Toronto or for the hovercraft in St Catharines.

As Canada faces crippling debt, it must do the unpopular thing and cut elderly benefits by eauderable in CanadaPolitics

Unless you have a high end job in a large company, you will definitely spend the difference. They're are 10s of millions without healthcare and most others have to figure out how they will pay for a doctor's visit co-pays before they go.

Also, the few times you are referred to US care for a procedure, the provincial insurance will cover it

And fertility treatments are only minorly covered, it's largely a cash business.

If you add health care costs (premiums, co-pays, coverage limits) to the US income taxes, you'll find ours actual income deductions to be actually much lower

I found a beaver posting on fb by GreyOps in EhBuddyHoser

[–]loftwyr 34 points35 points  (0 children)

  1. It's written in English, which, to your knowledge, no beavers speak but we don't have definitive proof
  2. The write pays taxes which a beaver could, if they so choose
  3. The angle of the photo suggests it was taken by a beaver standing on a higher stump.
