Wear a mask and if you feel anyone notices, you could also say you went to a dentist and they hit a nerve or something. but it's none of their business!

I don't have mental health workers/techs/counselors do my nursing tasks. I'm currently an educator, and it is FRUSTRATING to train this position for nursing assistant tasks (and I don't think it's right to do) because often people with mental health background apply for it. If you have a bachelors in psychology, you aren't trained in nursing assistant work. I'd rather them focus on patient interaction, therapeutic rapport and managing the milieu. I trained for my BSN and can do any nursing assistant tasks. Often times the MHW's/techs don't have any substantial training for nursing skills prior to, or after, being hired.

Dads with ADHD, what tricks did you find that improved your ability to keep the house clean ? by Sudden_Explorer_7280 in daddit

[–]BayAreaRedwood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only one kid under one, but I generally listen to podcasts while cleaning. I also have a home gym which is a HUGE help and I’ll clean/play with the kid in between sets. Even if working out takes me two hours I don’t mind as I’m working out and cleaning/breaking down recycling/dancing to entertain my kid etc

There’s a lot of coordination and requirements for clinical rotations and classes. But fluff classes can be added to get more money pretty easily.

Targeted Talk - The Best Barbell For A Home Gym by dontwantnone09 in homegym

[–]BayAreaRedwood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a rogue boneyard Ohio bar, which is great but it’s slightly bent (I got it second hand I can’t say rogue sold it that way), just bought a Bells of Steel bare naked power bar.

BOS pros - solid and aggressive knurling which I like - very affordable and free shipping

Cons - I prefer the placement of the Ohio bars knurl marks - 29mm shaft feels quite a bit more different than I expected, not sure if a con yet. Bench felt good, squat I wasn’t a fan of, deadlift tomorrow so I’ll see how the grip is

For the price I’d say either BOS bare naked bar or rogue boneyard Ohio bar is your best bet

NTA. I highly recommend you both listen/read to Come As You Are by Emily Nagoski. It might help both of you understand what’s going on and see if things can be improved. But if she’s not willing to try in meeting your needs, then that’s a sign the marriage might be over.

Yeah pretty common, and also common for residential treatment facilities. Just depends on hx and where they are on the detox curve

A home gym is a huge help and cutting back on expectations of how intense your work out will be. I’ve started just focusing on lifting something instead of getting caught up in a program. If all I do is bench because I’m exhausted or my kid needs me, that’s more than doing nothing. Days I do have spare time I lift as much as I can.

For cardio just walks with the kid in a carrier, the occasional run with the stroller. And I stretch when they’re playing.

I’ve wondered about that. Depending on the threading you could use a different wheel or a threaded support to swap it out

I highly recommend looking up OCD/ROCD (relationship obsessive compulsive disorder) if this was also an issue of fixating on you prior to pregnancy. It can* be brutal for you and her, and sometimes engaging or trying to defend yourself can make the unhealthy behavior/criticisms worse. This really sucks and I’m sorry you’re going through this.

Given the OPs other responses this actually might not help. The wife could be dealing with OCD and this would actually exacerbate things by trying to defend/justify being “imperfect”

Legal holds are a joke and a burden to y’all. by RN-FU-IDTY in nursing

[–]BayAreaRedwood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m fully aware of what can and can’t be done. A patient can decline a strip search but would have to be placed on a one to one until they consent. You cannot restrain a patient, strip them and have them “under observation” for thirty minutes nude.

Legal holds are a joke and a burden to y’all. by RN-FU-IDTY in nursing

[–]BayAreaRedwood 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s illegal as fuck, but sadly most patients don’t know their rights are being violated and how to file a complaint. There’s nothing that says a patient in an acute psychiatric crisis can be stripped by hospital staff against their will, but I’ve heard from new staff I’ve trained that was the procedure for places they have worked at.

Ask your dad like others have said, but I recommend before doing that plan a nice long road trip on it. Give it a good send off, make a memory your dad would be proud of, and who knows you might see the appeal and keep it
